Prime Therapeutics has an exciting leadership opportunity available! As a Sales and Account Management Director, you will make an impact from the beginning by utilizing your clinical/pharmaceutical background to drive strategy for new clients and business. In this highly visible role, you will collaborate with departments across Prime Therapeutics to deliver exceptional service to our clients and represent Prime Therapeutics in the market. This is a remote opportunity in the Northeast Region with a preference for location within a commutable distance to Providence, RI.

The Sales & Account Management Director acts in both a sales role, and an account management role for their assigned market. This position develops and executes sales and marketing strategies to attract new groups within the Blue Plan market to attain member growth. This position is the primary representative of Prime to multiple existing employer Administrative Services Only (ASO) accounts to optimize the pharmacy spend at the ASO account through use of Prime products and services. A preference for this role is someone with a strong pharmaceutical clinical background, Pharm D designation or has current or previous experience as a pharmacist.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Regional Vice Presidents and the sales team to drive joint ASO sales and member growth for Prime and the assigned Plan(s), that includes regaining lives that have been carved-out, winning new carve-in business, and assisting the account management team in retaining current business

  • Develop and communicate the pricing and program proposal for the prospect based on in-depth understanding of the needs of the prospect, knowledge of their market and knowledge of the company’s programs, capabilities and needs

  • Lead efforts to maximize the pharmacy spend from the ASO employer accounts through the adoption of new and the expansion of existing products and services

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the company, our products and services, the market, the competition, and opportunities

  • Educates client sales, marketing, and account management teams on current topics in the industry, new product developments, and the competitive landscape; provides collateral materials and sales support when necessary to help facilitate the sales process

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

  • 5 years of experience gaining operational knowledge of PBM organizations

  • 5 years of experience in sales and/or account management position

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and create opportunities, develop effective selling messages, presentations and proposals

  • Exceptional communication, internal and external relationship development skills

  • Exceptional organizational, project management and time management skills

  • Known as a subject matter expert in one or more areas within the industry (pharmacy trend, health plan benefits, etc.)

  • Excellent internal and external relationship development skills

  • Excellent business acumen and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent customer orientation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong pharmaceutical clinical background, Pharm D designation or has current or previous experience as a pharmacist

  • MBA or relevant Masters degree

  • 2 years experience gaining implementation leadership within a PBM organization

Minimum Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Reports to VP in the Employer Market Sales and Retention departments
