Position Description

The vertical market sales manager is responsible for the sales growth and development of several targeted vertical markets inside our USA Construction & Industrial business. The objective is to align Anixter’s vast resources to our clients’ needs on a global scale to maximize our growth opportunity inside each market. This individual is responsible developing and implementing a market selling strategy, becoming a subject matter expert in the products used inside the space, and leading a team of resources to exploit opportunities. The successful candidate should possess the following background, skills, and competencies:

  • Possess abilities to develop and execute strategies to attract, grow, and maintain global customer relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to excel at providing tactical and strategic leadership related to an overall complex global account strategy implementation.

  • Sales skills including but not limited to business plan development, forecasting, professional presentation capabilities, sales cycle management, negotiation and closing skills.

  • Experience preparing effective sales proposals, reviewing contracts, and customer RFQ’s

  • Possess excellent communication skills and follow up across all mediums

Your sales skills need be unrivaled, but it also helps if you have:

  • Bachelors degree in a related major is preferred

  • Several years of sales experience required

-Ability to strategically manage large complex projects

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-A confident and determined approach
