Sr Product Line Specialist

The Senior Product Line Specialist designs develops and manages activities for the Diode products within the Diversified Analog Solutions (DAS) Business Unit at Skyworks, including planning through production, release, and end of product life.

The candidate will communicate and facilitate relationships with the Sales, Marketing, internal operations and external manufacturing partner teams to maintain visibility and priorities in production. They drive roadmaps and serves as a central resource with design, program management, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing and distribution as the product(s) move through their lifecycle. They have the opportunity to define creative, high quality product roadmaps, promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends, formulates and executes long-term plans to achieve the DAS BU’s strategic goals.

Reporting directly to the DAS BU Analog Product Line Director, the right candidate will have a natural system approach to the complex RF problems, a strong business acumen, a broad skill set with the ability to set KPIs for, engage with, and motivate cross-functional teams across multiple geographical regions to define deliverables, plan resources, improve processes and achieve desired results. The individual should have a demonstrated history in the functions listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Drive New Product Introduction

  • Engages marketing teams in development of product roadmaps and reviews of new product proposals.

  • Drives design teams for continuous improvement on the product cost model.

  • Interfaces directly with technology team to drive new technology developments and improvements to address product roadmap needs.

  • Working with offshore NPI teams to enable selection of appropriate vendors, product cost control and vendor share allocation.

  • Product Life-Cycle Management

  • Ownership of diode product line related activities such as handling customer quote clauses, pricing, and part approval survey requests.

  • Manage EOL activities within the BU for external driven supplier EOLs or internal demand based EOL. Coordinate PLM and operations team to product End of Life decisions or alternate source adoption.

  • Coordinate with operations and PLM team to determine disposition of NPI and production scrap material.

  • Support in line product changes through Change Control Board (CCB) participation.

  • Handle Financial Metrics

  • Drives product portfolio top line growth and GM%.

  • Perform various finance, forecast, and backlog reports in support of product line priorities and decisions.

  • Works on complex System problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science with 8 years’ experience in project management or product engineering in the semiconductor or similar industry; or MS degree with 6 years’ experience.

  • Experience with semiconductor product development and knowledge of all activities therein including design, manufacturing, test, and packaging etc.

  • Excellent communications, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with cross-functional teams and flexibility to work with multi-national teams/different time zones.

  • Fast learner and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
