We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our team in Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The Senior Business Development Manager for Tactical Radars provides leadership to find, develop, shape and advise programs and pursuits worth over $1.5B to Raytheon in the next three years. These programs are at various stages of development, from customer vision through program proposal. The Sr. Manager will find and develop new leads, shape early programs to fit Raytheon’s portfolio, build teams to win pursuits and oversee the execution of all early phases of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS). This leader is fully responsible for all business development activities from Phase -1 until contract award. This position reports to the Mission Sensors and Systems (MSS) Business Development Director for Tactical Radars. This position will win new business by insuring interdependent, timely and streamlined execution of the business development, capture and proposal process. Position will be located in either Woburn, Massachusetts or Salt Lake City, Utah. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : New business lead discovery and development; grow realistic front-end-of-the business opportunities by $1B over the next three years Win Strategy development – develop strategies for multiple pursuits that synthesize information regarding the customer, competitors and Raytheon’s strengths and weaknesses. Create a sound business case and value proposition based on customer requirements. Formulate a Position to Win – Translate the win strategy into a comprehensive engagement plan and offering including win themes and discriminators the customer values. Partner with appropriate industry teammates to increase probability of win. Communicate the vision of success that inspires and energizes the team. In a fully matrixed environment, builds an organization structure focused on winning new business by integrating IDS Business Areas and Functional Team representatives into a smoothly operating and cohesive team. Gain and maintain stakeholder (senior management, partners, and teammates) buy-in and support, and commitment of right resources to increase early probability of win Develop the New Business Investment (NBI) budget for a successful pursuit, and execute to budget. Provide leadership fostering Business Area/Function interdependency and maintain process accountability. Travel 50% or more of the time to meet with customers, attend trade shows and participate in other industry/company events. This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Basic Qualifications: Related University degree or equivalent Minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Experience building and strengthening teams to execute strategies and complex programs. Experience with customer focused marketing Experience in the DOD environment and knowledge of the acquisition process Knowledge of the Foreign Military Sale (FMS) export release process Experience in competitive analysis, customer analysis, win strategy development, conduct of color teams and/or price-to win analysis. Ability to travel 50% or more of the time Current Top Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in engineering, mathematics or MBA from an accredited university or college. 12+ years of business development leadership in the defense industry or Systems Program Office (SPO) equivalent military leadership experience in acquisitions. Experience as an acquisition director and/or capture director. Experience building effective relationships with internal and external customers, and leading highly effective teams Responds efficiently/effectively to time critical requirements with superior results; record of successfully interfacing with business development disciplines and varied levels of leadership Accomplished in the use of MS Word, Power Point, Excel and MS Project.
