We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager in Marketing at our site in Wilmington.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design develop and implement Global Discovery Services marketing plans and programs to support business goals and objectives, and identify new opportunities to increase market share.

  • Provide direction and leadership to events, website, creative and marketing support teams to generate maximum market awareness and ROI (value). Work with operations, sales and marketing staff to develop and implement strategies, portfolio development plans and positioning and messaging plans consistent with both corporate and business unit branding platforms.

  • Manage the planning, organization and execution of marketing materials, brochures as well as other publications in support of company wide services, in alignment with other marketing team members.

  • Participate in vision, strategy, organization and execution of corporate trade shows.

  • Conduct regular sales trade show and market insight trips, including customer field travel with representatives.

  • Participate in design, development and implementation of sales training programs.

  • Research and analyze customer behavior to identify major factors influencing buyer behavior and to define the buying process.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of tactical marketing plans to support and achieve overall CR business goals and objectives, with a special emphasis on value creation across our entire portfolio.

  • Work closely with company and client scientists to identify opportunities to enhance and expand service offerings.

  • Working with Business Analytics and Clients Services, prepare detailed competitive market analyses and strategic options to grow marketing share including modeling of alternative business scenarios.

  • Identify and create synergistic marketing programs that cross product and business unit lines.

  • Identify value added opportunities to strengthen financial performance of business. Develop valued-based pricing models.

  • Participate in vendor selection management in the execution of marketing objectives.

  • Keep abreast of current trends and practices in the industry.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in marketing or related discipline. Technical background preferred. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent in a combination of marketing, sales, product management, communications and business management positions within a technical environment (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device company, hospital, or laboratory).

  • Certification/Licensure: None.

  • Other: Proven ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft applications including Excel and PowerPoint.

The Marketing Manager for Drug Discovery Technology Platforms will have a unique opportunity to collaborate with highly skilled scientists in marketing their unique capabilties to a global audience. Working with business stakeholders, the Marketing Manager will help define marketing objectives and strategies, and translate strategies into communication tactics, including project management, planning, and scheduling. The Marketing Manager will leverage all the resources of this enterprise-class organization (marketing automation platform, SFDC CRM, market research tools, in-house copyediting and creative team, etc.) to design and produce campaigns using a variety of tactics and channels to help the business meet its revenue objectives. He or she will also work with sales management to support sales efforts, and with events management to maximize the Drug Discovery Technology Platforms visibility and return on investment at conferences, seminars and other events.
