Reporting to Head of Product and Portfolio Management, this role supports strategy development and execution for Citizens’ $10.0B Student Lending portfolio. This highly flexible and customer-focused leader will have a broad background in finance, pricing, credit, portfolio management, and business analytics with an emphasis on consumer lending P&L management. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with partners in Finance, Pricing, Credit Risk, and Marketing to develop strategies and drive delivery of growth and profitability targets. This position will also be responsible for related business analysis, operational support, and product management activities.
Description:
Lead the product management function for the In-School education finance business, ensuring delivery of growth, credit performance, and margin objectives by driving a well-coordinated and highly integrated partnership with Marketing, Pricing, Analytics, and Credit Risk; Specific areas of focus include maintaining acceptable originations while preparing for future growth as market expands. Build for the future to ensure that Citizens is able to capture market share as market allows.
Drive collaboration across all relevant stakeholders in developing budgets and forecasts, actively driving discussion of strategies and expected portfolio behaviors to drive effective prioritization and achievement of business goals.
Evaluate new opportunities to drive growth, profitability, and efficiency in the business, informed by a deep understanding of customer needs, industry expertise, and effective management of P&L trade-offs
Continuously monitor relevant industry, competitive, and economic trends and develop action plans to capitalize on emerging opportunities and proactively manage risk
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive growth of responsibilities in financial services product P&L management, with strong understanding of finance, analytics, and credit risk management. Prior student lending experience a plus, but not required.
Strategic thinker and planner with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities, optimize trade-offs, and drive execution
Strong understanding of current technologies deployed for effective retail financial services delivery.
Active risk manager with ability to understand and mitigate risks inherent with lending, without trading off growth objectives and overall customer experience.
Expert manager of internal and external relationships
Clear and articulate communicator with strong personal presence who establishes credibility and drives alignment across stakeholders.
Bachelor Degree Required - Business, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative discipline; Master’s Degree preferred

The salary range for this position is $99,450-$150,000 plus an opportunity to earn additional incentive earnings. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
