The Program Director manages multiple Information Technology projects and the development and delivery of formal and informal proposals and responses to requests for proposals for the USAF business area. This includes delivering projects on time and on budget as dictated by project scope and schedule. The Program Director is responsible for managing project(s) budget and schedule via the GDIT management process and keeping the project accounting current with project contract value and estimate at completion values. The Program Director will maintain a high degree of internal and external customer service via clear and timely verbal and written communication and project reporting. The Program Director will manage assigned projects from the proposal capture stage through project completion. This includes giving division/corporate briefings including gate reviews, business progress reports and performing various liaison activities at various levels within GDIT, as required. The Program Director will responsible for identifying customer hot buttons, identifying winning themes and discriminators, developing team solutions to satisfy customer requirements and coordinating/assisting the price to win analysis to successfully increase the opportunity win rate within USAF business area.

Essential Functions for this Position:

  • Ensure a clear understanding by all disciplines of project scope and terms.

  • Facilitate proposal development including, complex project execution plans, estimation, compilation and on time delivery ensuring all contract requirements are met.

  • Facilitate competitive quotes for multiple subcontracted service and material procurement.

  • Compiling project risks and effectively evaluating probability, impact and planning for mitigation and contingency.

  • Provide division/corporate level briefings, gathering information, and performing various liaison activities at various levels within GDIT.

  • Serve as the primary interface for qualified contract pursuits.

  • Facilitate schedule management including the development and upkeep of project schedules.

  • Identify and qualify bid opportunities and work with the Business Development team to build and execute a winning capture strategy on opportunities that have significant impact to USAF Defense Division revenue growth

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist team in meeting and/or exceeding program and product sales quotas as set by the business unit.

  • Manage and develop partner channels to obtain valid configurations, best pricing, and availability that meet customer requirements.

  • Increase sales volume and profitability by ensuring registration or most favorable pricing are obtained on each transaction.

  • Generate formal sales quotes based on validated solution configurations and pricing, coupled with adherence to contractual requirements.

  • Resolve daily customer concerns regarding products and services, as required.

  • Responsible for processing orders and communicating delivery requirements to contracts.

  • Maintain job related IT product knowledge.

  • Meet corporate/business area quality objectives.

Education

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business from an accredited school or University is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred

  • Experience with Government contracting.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Product certifications highly desired (Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp, Dell/EMC, etc.).
  1. Masters Degree preferred.

  2. Professional certification (PMP) preferred.

12-15 years of related program management experience.
