Citizens Bank Media Manager in Westwood, Massachusetts

Citizens is creating a new role responsible for the strategic management of broad reach and target mass media as well as full funnel oversight of all paid media across the enterprise.

In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and measuring media strategies. Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to create a holistic strategy and perspective on Citizens paid media overall. You will align with various marketing partners to understand their goals and in conjunction with media agencies and internal partners will develop paid media strategies and plans that will support marketing objectives and ensure a positive customer experience across media channels. Based on insights and your expertise, you will be able form media recommendations, create budget recommendations, define the drivers of performance, execute, optimize, and report out on the different campaigns while identifying what’s worked well in the past and iterate but also comfortable ideating, testing and implementing new ideas and opportunities.

Partner closely with digital media manager, brand and product marketing partners and work alongside agency partners to help develop a holistic media strategy and own activation planning and execution paid media. Responsibility for oversight and management across all enterprise media activities to achieve and ensure efficiency across Citizens advertising investment.

In the role you will also have accountability to advance the paid advertising capability within Citizens. You will contribute to that advancement in areas including measurement, emerging media exploration and experimentation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement and optimize target mass media campaigns

  • Support internal partners with media budget planning and forecasting

  • Interpreting marketing briefs into impactful integrated strategies across media channels

  • Leading all aspects of channel recommendations, including approving buys, campaign monitoring, and guiding media optimizations

  • Leading external media agencies across planning, activation, and analytics

  • Representing media channel efforts internally, working closely with Marketing, Creative, Digital, Social and Analytics teams.

  • Package summarization of media plan and performance highlights for partners and executive presentations

  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams in a dynamic environment

  • Management of campaigns on time on budget on target.

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership to Citizens paid advertising efforts

  • Work with paid media team members to collect performance information, strategic recommendations, and provide a cross-channel viewpoint and ensure efficiency and effectiveness

  • Develop regular cadence of business reviews highlighting key learnings and performance, educate, & present to leadership teams

  • Contribute to strategy, paid media optimizations, audience targeting, and messaging

  • Articulate and educate on paid media optimizations for improved acquisition performance

  • Implement test-learn-adapt paid media programs in partnership with our agency that optimizes on marketing objectives

  • Translates business KPIs in channel KPIs

  • Advance Citizens paid advertising practice

  • Investigate and stay ahead of emerging advertising trends within digital, video, audio, experiential etc.

  • Analyze and report on results and identify and apply key findings to future efforts

  • Partner with key stakeholders as well as research partners to brainstorm and implement lift tests and geo-based experiments.

  • Recommend new paid media tactics, concepts, partners, and approaches to inform broader marketing strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; preference Marketing, Media or PR

  • 8+ years of experience in agency and/or corporate with record of success in media management and an established understanding of the wider digital communications landscape

  • Experience juggling multiple company-wide goals and working with multiple teams / clients at once

  • Highly competent in integrated media planning and communication strategy

  • Constant finger on the pulse and point of view on the evolving media landscape, emerging technologies, consumer trends and media consumption habits

  • Proficiency in return on investment measurement and analytics and can facilitate workstreams related to digital tagging infrastructure and ad measurement enablement

  • Experience with social, digital video, OTT, streaming audio, podcasts, programmatic buying, data personalization, social platforms, digital brand tracking, content marketing/native advertising, broadcast TV and terrestrial radio

  • Must be detail oriented and able to deliver on deadline in a fast-paced environment

  • Strategic mindset that can see the big picture while managing the individual pieces

  • Curiosity and interest in following digital trends in marketing, channel strategy, and eager to share what you learn with the team

  • A proven foundation of marketing and media strategy

  • Technical understanding of media research and measurement systems (i.e. Adobe Analytics, DoubleClick, MRI, Comscore, Tableau)

  • Ability to support multiple marketing partners simultaneously and remain adaptive to working across varying team styles and workflow

  • Excellent interpersonal, project management, and communication skills

  • Excellent presentation writing and communications with advanced abilities in PowerPoint and Excel

  • Agency management experience a plus

  • Familiarity with agile principles / working in agile a plus
