Citizens Bank Content Copywriting Manager in Westwood, Massachusetts


There’s no better time to be a Citizen! We are growing and looking for a Content Copy Manager to lead our team of writers within Greenhouse, our award winning, in-house agency. Our mission is to create best-in-class content that helps educate, entertain, and create empathy with our readers.

The Content Copy Manager is a conceptual thinker and collaborative partner who pushes the envelope and guides a team of writers and freelancers to ideate and produce engaging and impactful content that connects with social audiences. You are a storyteller with demonstrated strength in bridging strategy through language that cuts through the clutter and engages an audience.

An inspirational leader, mentor and doer who knows that words are just part of the picture and is eager to guide the team as well as work directly with designers, content strategists, UX and other key stakeholders to deliver relevant experiences across platforms. The Content Copy Manager will be the greatest advocate for our work but will also listen and internalize feedback so that the team can come back with creative that exceeds expectation.

This role will report to the Head of Greenhouse in-house agency. They will be challenged to continually raise the bar on content creation. Must have a proven ability to manage, present and communicate creative solutions professionally and succinct.


  • Write engaging, cohesive copy across multiple channels (including digital, video, social, etc) and within the appropriate voice to fit the audience

  • Consistently maintain high standards of writing to enhance and elevate engagement

  • Use storytelling and strategic insights to actively shape and express a brand to be culturally relevant and engaging to various audiences

  • Responsible for developing and overseeing branded content creation to drive measured awareness, engagement, and action across all channels

  • Provide strategic leadership of the creative content copy team including management of feedback cycles and decisions authority (approval) on executions

  • Expertly managing the creative process, to keep things flowing smoothly, continually reviewing and optimizing every piece of content your team produces

  • Develops and nurture relationships with in-house agency colleagues—creative, account management, traffic —operating as a positive agent for improving internal communications and workflow

  • Push, evolve and maintain brand and editorial standards across all forms of content

  • Work with internal partners to develop digital content in numerous formats (written, static visual, motion graphics, etc.) with a focus on empathy, personality, and customer needs

  • Ensure all content and copy is on brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone and optimized for SEO and user experience across all channels

  • Collaborate with designers and other team members to brainstorm and execute new ideas, considering new and interesting ways to attract and engage customers with an emphasis on emerging trends and best practices


  • 8+ years’ content writing experience in-house marketing, agency and/or digital team

  • Cross functional leader and people manager with 5+ years’ leadership experience

  • Excellent creative online portfolio

  • Deep understanding of social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, SnapChat and TikTok)

  • A passion and expertise for inspiring existing talent and recruiting new talent including a bench of freelancers

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly, with poise and confidence

  • Strong critical thinker and problem solver

  • Expert knowledge in best practices in SEO/SEM, Social, email, copy editing and grammar

  • Ability to quickly absorb, express and expand upon Brand Standards

  • Deep understanding the fundamentals, current challenges, best practices and future trends of the digital landscape

  • Excellent organization and decision-making skills with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Thrives to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to work collaboratively and independently

  • Fluent in Word & Excel. Knowledge of PowerPoint

  • Proficient in Mac environment + collaboration technology - Slack, Jira, Confluence, and workflow tool (Aprimo)

  • Experience developing content and/or integrated marketing for financial products, or highly regulated industries (preferred)
