Biogen Associate Director, Global Commercial Learning in Weston, Massachusetts

About This Role * The Global Commercial Learning Partner (GLP) applies their learning expertise and business knowledge to develop and deploy a learning strategy which drives performance and measurable business outcomes of global commercial teams. There are four main focus areas for this role: o Establishing Common Learning Frameworks – work collaboratively across the Global Commercial Regions to build and sustain learning frameworks to enable global launch excellence for assets scaling from large populations to ultra-rare disease, preparation for competitive product launches, etc. These learning frameworks will include standard structures for knowledge transfer, application, and skill-building workshops (e.g. account planning, live/virtual customer engagement, business acumen, etc.). o Strategic Learning Partnerships – GLP will build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders in the Pipeline Development and Commercialization (PDC) Team, serving as a true learning partner to the business; leads the develop of appropriate global learning curriculum and content. o Commercial / Marketing Excellence – partner with the global marketing organizations to further enhance the current Marketing Academy offering. Build on the success of the current program and identify ways to increase effectiveness through new offerings, leveraging champion network, establishing a community of practice, etc. o Learning Partner – partner closely with the Global Product Strategy & Commercialization (GPS&C) team to understand their learning needs. GLP will liaise with the Enterprise Learning Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and other learning partners to identify learning interventions to support the development of our GPS&C colleagues. What You'll Do * Cultivate deep business knowledge and partnerships to inform the development of the learning strategy in support of near and mid-term needs of pipeline assets for training of field teams, pre, peri and post launch * Design and develop cohesive, scalable, and sustainable learning programs which increase the skills, knowledge and performance of future field commercial teams. This includes a blended learning approach to onboarding, new hire and launch training. * Partner with pipeline and regional teams to ensure early global commercial learning plans are developed for broad global utilization, allowing for local customization. * Ensures curriculum is built using adult learning principles, instructional design principles, and by conducting needs analysis to create optimal learning programs. * Partner with subject matter experts and resources, both internally and externally, to develop learning solutions. * Potential to manage, coach and develop one or more Senior Training Managers. * Strategically plan and manage budgets and timelines and ensure adherence to all relevant policies and SOPs. * Collaboration with Marketing, Sales Leadership, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance to ensure alignment on strategy, plans and content. * 3 - 5 years training experience in industry; * 7-10 years selling / commercial experience in industry with demonstrated success * Adult learning experience * Marketing experience * Launch experience and working collaboratively with co-promote * Strong executive presence and presentation skills to interact appropriately with all levels of the organization. * Proven experience fostering teamwork and collaboration; promotes teamwork within and across groups. * Demonstrated ability to influence others and accomplish goals within a matrixed environment * Understand and implement change strategy; helps leadership navigate change and achieve sustainable performance * Results oriented with excellent decision-making skills * Ability to build short and mid-term learning strategies that align to business imperatives Education: * Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred About Biogen Our mission to find therapies for neurological and rare diseases is a unique focus within our industry and this shared purpose is what connects us as a team.
