Job summary

Serve as a resident life cycle expert. Red Hat's Platforms Business team is looking for a Senior Principal Life Cycle Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will develop and guide the policies and internal processes to make sure that Red Hat will be able to meet the requirements of our customers and partners. You'll be highly visible, internally and externally, in guiding life cycle planning, communication, and programs and offerings related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). As a Senior Principal Life Cycle Manager, you will provide leadership, coordination, and expertise throughout the company, helping Red Hat build sustainable life cycle plans across the Red Hat's diverse portfolio and ensure that the bundles and solutions that Red Hat delivers to the market meet our customers' and partners’ needs.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Design, implement, communicate, and enforce Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) life cycle policy and operations

  • Lead a cross-portfolio Life Cycle Council to coordinate and normalize life cycle policy, facilitate the creation of joint offerings and programs, and share best practices across the business

  • Work collaboratively with Product Management, Operations, Product Security, Engineering, and other internal teams to define and manage all life cycle programs for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all things Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) life cycle-related, including what offerings are where in their life cycle and the implications for audiences both internal and external, how to properly design and implement new life cycle offerings, how to use existing offerings, processes, and programs in response to customer and market needs, and how to align and combine life cycles for offerings based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  • Assist with the negotiation and management of life cycle programs for partners and customers, including responding to requests for exceptions and guiding program improvements based on market needs

  • Build and maintain models for forecasting the cost of different life cycle alternatives and exception requests to help the business make timely decisions and manage risk

Required skills

  • Proven record of success in an initiative-based, fast-moving, technical environment

  • Exceptional skills in leading cross-functional teams, building detailed plans and policies, assisting sales and partner teams, the evaluation of and negotiation with technical terms, and in delivering internal and external communications

  • Demonstrated success working in a persuasion-driven, cross-functional environment

  • 7-10 years of experience in product management, product marketing, or similar technology area

  • Experience with actuarial science or building similar risk-based statistical models for the pricing of offerings

  • Technical degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or data science; MBA is a plus
