We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to serve as the Corporate Lead for Collins Aerospace Mission Systems for Hanscom Air Force Base. The account manager must be a self-starter, a leader, willing to work remote and able to develop customer relationships at executive leadership levels in this rewarding role. This individual will be responsible for leading the development of business strategies and customer engagement plans for our executive leadership and business development teams, to strengthen our relationship and grow opportunities with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center – Hanscom and the three resident PEOs. The successful candidate will represent all of Mission Systems strategic business units within Collins Aerospace to the customer and act as a government liaison. This position is located in the Hanscom AFB, MA area and is considered a telecommuting arrangement. The ideal candidate is expected to live within driving distance of Hanscom to facilitate short notice meetings at the base.

This position requires expertise in the customer base and its affiliated programs, upcoming pursuits as well as its organizational construct. Knowledge of the various levels of customer executive leadership is strongly desired. Acquisition expertise and experience to include the Air Force source selection process is also highly desired. This position also requires knowledge of the broad spectrum of Collins Aerospace Mission Systems capabilities. This position also supports the overall Pursuit and Order Capture phase of programs, supporting and advising on Contact Plans/Affinity Analysis as well as Competitive Analysis.

A successful candidate will be familiar with the customer and competitive market in the areas listed above, familiarity with Collins Aerospace processes and network, and ability to drive the business development and broader team into new opportunities.

This position is remote but expected to be located at or near Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the interface between Collins Aerospace and customer executive offices and subordinate leaders to build strong customer intimacy across our organizations.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of customer strategies to maximize sales opportunities and customer satisfaction.

  • Develop and maintain customer insight for early identification and shaping of customer requirements and for influencing our internal investments and strategies.

  • Cultivate relationships with both local and remote industry partners; recommend acquisitions and alliances (teaming)

  • Support market and competitive analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance is required; having a current SECRET or above security clearance is highly desired

  • Recent experience working with the U.S. Air Force, and specifically with Hanscom units, is highly desired.

  • Be comfortable with strategic/critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, debate, challenging customer thinking, and fact-based analysis of alternatives is required.

  • A working knowledge of business development, business case analysis, and Pursuit and Order Capture concepts is desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required; ability to brief large audiences and senior officials with confidence and poise is required.

  • Ability to support occasional domestic travel is required.
