Amazon Sr. ITAppDev Engineer, Amazon Mechatronics Sustainable Packaging (MSP) in Westborough, Massachusetts

The Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Business Applications & Technology (BA&T) team is seeking a Senior IT Application Development Engineer (ITAppDev) for electrical design software. The role requires the ability to work with minimal direction, the capacity to move quickly, and the flexibility to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have a strong technical background with experience in Electrical Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (preferably for both electrical schematics and PCB design) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. The role requires an individual who is customer-centric and able to work in a fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial attitude. They will be expected to collaborate with end-users and cross-functional development teams to define requirements, manage the system configuration, and continuously drive functional and operational excellence through workflow management. The candidate will be required to dive deep into the system architecture and product development processes to contribute to strategic planning for business scalability.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot configuration and operational parameters for business applications.

  • Develop and facilitate user training.

  • Support application infrastructure in partnership with software development team.

  • Administer ECAD applications.

  • Create drawing/part templates and sheet formats for engineering teams.

  • Developing and managing system workflows, access controls, change management, and CAD integrations.

About the team

The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team develops automated solutions and sustainable packaging across Amazon's operations, focusing on customer experience, and waste reduction. Within MSP this role is a part of the Business Application & Technology (BA&T) team that provides applications/software and technology that enable our customers to develop and manage their portfolio of products throughout the product lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience debugging/troubleshooting within EPLAN and Altium Software.

  • Experience with workflows, access control, change management, CAD integrations.

  • Working knowledge of PDM and PLM solutions.

  • Experience administrating document management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent EPLAN / Altium CAD experience.

  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 drafting standards and ASME Y14 series, particularly ASME Y14.5-2009 and later.

  • Experience embedded with product development user groups, identifying requirements, providing guidance on customization implementation timing and feasibility, and enabling deployments.
