Danaher Corporation Senior Marketing Manager: Gene Therapy in Westborough, Massachusetts


This is an important new role in our Marketing organization whose aim is to develop and execute marketing tactics which will help drive our fast-growing gene therapy business to further success. You will work closely with the leadership of our newly established Gene Therapy Business Unit as well as cross functionally with colleagues in transformative marketing, regional marketing, content marketing, product management and technical and commercial functions to develop and execute annual tactical marketing plans to drive demand for our Gene Therapy solutions. Being close to the market and customer needs you will also feedback insights to the ongoing strategic planning process for the Gene Therapy segment. This person will plan, lead and coordinate demand generation activity for Gene Therapy across all channels, support regional sales and marketing teams to gain market share. Understand unmet customer needs to influence future strategy. This role will be based out of Westborough, MA, USA, or Harbourgate, UK

Reports to: VP of Demand Generation, dotted line to Director, Strategy & Innovation, Gene Therapy


  • Develop a global holistic tactical marketing plan for GT

  • Lead and coordinate demand generation activity across all communications channels

  • Generate personas, value propositions to help identify sales opportunities and recommend Pall gene therapy solutions

  • Work with regional teams to understand adoption barriers, effective deployment of sales enablement resources and gather customer use cases

  • Lead deep dives to understand customer’s unmet needs to drive better penetration of our gene therapy product and service solutions

  • Leverage VoC and competitive landscape to evaluate competition in these accounts, communicate competitive threats, strengths and weaknesses, and advise on fine-tuning product offerings

  • Support regional teams as a subject matter expert where appropriate

  • Proactively recommend and organize participation at industry events putting in place planning to maximise exposure

  • Advise web team on how to improve gene therapy experience on our website

    Education and/or Experience

  • MS in Bioprocessing or closely related biological discipline

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in Bioprocessing

  • Familiarity with the Gene Therapy market

  • Excellent holistic planning and project management skills, familiar with daily management and analysis of metrics

  • Must have high level of strategic and tactical agility, excellent decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Possess the ability to lead cross functional activity and recognise the value of TEAM

  • Influence and shape opinion among peers and senior managers

  • Able to identify and prioritize the tasks necessary to meet long- and short-term objectives and effective time management and multi-tasking abilities to achieve these objectives

  • High level of cultural sensitivity and awareness

  • Must have entrepreneurial spirit and continuous improvement mindset

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must have a “can do” mindset, not afraid to jump in, roll up sleeves and help team members keep on track with various parts of the plan
