Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Manager is a critical element of our market access strategies to ensure success in an increasingly challenging market environment. New regulations, a decision-making process where the clinician is no longer the only player, and a concept of value which is more and more based on evidence coming from clinical studies and derived economic value from our technologies and solutions, makes it a must that we equip ourselves with the required capabilities and convey a meaningful value-based message to our customers.

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage health economics project development from concept to final tool development that includes RFP vendor selection, project management, protocol development and generation of primary findings.

  • Manage budget related to all health economics efforts according task and deliverable schedules and report to finance on spend and accruals. Educate marketing and other internal stakeholders regarding health economics message development and need for evidence.

  • Train internal customers on use of health economics tools so that they can more effectively communicate with customers.

  • Perform ad-hoc research and analysis requests on a variety of projects for Olympus business priorities including different evidence generation programs.

  • Oversee publication plan for health economics findings and present health economics finding at professional society meetingsLead in responding to health economics inquiries of US technology assessment committees about the value of the product.

  • Liaise with Clinical Affairs & Regulatory Affairs to ensure appropriate clinical support and guidance when scoping health economics projects and to align in the development of Value Propositions.

  • Liaise with global health economics, bringing feedback about health economics needs for the US. Adapt global or other country health economic tools and program for application to US.

  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Management.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced/Master Degree in Health Economics, Public Health or Health Care Services Research or Health Care Administration is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years previous in pharmaceutical medical device industries or health care services research is required.

  • Previous experience in overseeing Health Economics studies for medical device companies.

  • Minimum of 2-3 professional years work experience in health economics is required.

  • Must have an understanding of medical device purchase decision-making in the US.

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have customer service approach that is solution driven and pragmatic.

  • Strong business management mind-set and the ability to implement solutions that support achievement of business goals.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and influence others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to conduct requirements of the job with minimal oversight.

  • Project management experience with ability to manage multiple projects at a time is preferred.

  • Successful experience in leading cross-functional projects is desired.

  • Critical thinking: Ability to provide detailed insight into potential health economics opportunities and challenges.

  • Convincing and influencing skills: Ability to present information in a logical manner that address the need and concerns of the audience.

  • Project management skills: Manage project goals timeline and milestones to assure on task deliverable schedules.
