The Global Product Manager is a member of the Global Respiratory Business Unit and is responsible for global marketing product development activities and deliverables throughout the stage gates of projects within their scope of responsibility with minimal direction. Activities are focused on new product development and lifecycle management. He/She will participate in cross-functional product development teams and be responsible for defining user requirements and translating requirements into specifications, marketing claims, and clinical indications for use. He/She will have close collaboration with R&D, RA/QA, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regional Marketing. Forecasting, market modelling, and development of business cases experience is preferred. This requires a good understanding of clinical usage, market trends, competitive forces, and competitive technologies. He/She will also work closely with Regional Marketing during requirement building and global strategy planning and oversee commercialization efforts of projects to ensure successful product launches. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and self-motivates with excellent analytic, facilitation, and communication skills (both oral and written). The Global Product Manager will report to the Director of Global Product Marketing.

Job Duties

  • Ensure all business requirements and stage gate deliverables are executed in an effective and timely manner under their scope of responsibility.

  • Owner of voice of customer activities.

  • Develop clear user requirements for future product offerings and collaborate with R&D and OEM Partners to translate user needs into requirements.

  • Collaborate with Market Intelligence to design and execute primary and secondary research to define user requirements and drive business portfolio decisions.

  • Maintain responsibility for informing and leading internal cross-functional teams as well as regional marketing teams on business deliverables/requirements under their scope of responsibility.

  • Maintain responsibility for strategic planning and driving alignment of plans, budgets, timelines, risk assessment, progress, and risk mitigation proposals as necessary according to business and market dynamics.

  • Develop and manage relationships with HCP’s who will champion Olympus products and act as advisors in new product development activities.

  • Develop strong relationships and early collaboration with regional marketing teams to ensure successful product launches.

  • Develop in depth knowledge and clinical expertise in areas of responsibility. This includes being actively engaged in product trainings, field visits, industry trade shows, trainings, HCP engagements, etc.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with medical devices, diagnostics, corporate strategy, upstream marketing, downstream marketing, project management, analytics, R&D.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in new product development or successful new product introductions within medical device field.

  • Travel a minimum of 25 % (including international).

  • Occasional evening and weekend work from home required.


  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.

  • Strong clinical competency and analytical skills.

  • Experience in designing and executing voice of customer research.

  • Self-motivated with track record of establishing and executing on goals.

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Proven track record of identifying and developing thought leader relationships.
