Responsible for the development and execution of a robust and integrated communications plan for key organizational pillars within Aetna's Consumer Health & Services organization namely, Transformation, Consumer Technology and Data Analytics and Behavior Change. Working directly with the head of CH&S Business Communication and leaders within the CH&S business, the Sr Communications Partner will ensure appropriate implementation of communications strategies to drive a positive reputation for the company via strategic internal and external communication campaigns, in alignment with the CH&S Communication Strategy and broader Aetna Enterprise Communication campaigns. The Sr Communications Partner will partner with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, at all levels of the organization, to provide Communication expertise and leadership relating to CH&S and Aetna-level Strategic Initiatives.
This position requires a strong ability to partner with colleagues at all levels of the organization including senior business leaders. Candidates should be adept at working across the full spectrum of communication functions / disciplines (strategy, messaging/ content, media, social, internal, channels and measurement) with a track record of collaboration and partnership to ensure alignment of strategies and delivery of results.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop communication strategies using best practices, innovative ideas and audience insight.
Seamlessly and expertly execute communication plans.
Identify and resolve communication needs for complex technical, operational or organizational problems.
Sets priorities for or with project teams, including developing and delivering communication plans and supporting necessary work.
Align business-specific communication efforts with overall Aetna communications messages and goals.
Ensure that all communications are error-free, accurate, appropriately approved and consistent with Aetnas core values.
Understand and support the Aetna brand and reputation.
Understand how communications solutions will support Aetnas ability to succeed.
Working understanding of health care and/or technology industry landscape, disruption and complexities.
Ability to measure program effectiveness, actively reviewing results and willingly making adjustments to improve efficacy.
Ability to collaborate with and influence key decision makers
Strong writing, editing and presentation skills
Effective team player with proven ability to work with key business leaders
Ability to handle high level confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
Commitment to quality while being able to prioritize and excel in a fast paced environment
Experience developing and executing successful communication programs at the enterprise level or for major business organizations.
Experience in writing and editing all kinds of communication on short notice and as part of long-term initiatives..
Track record of proactively identifying and pursuing relevant opportunities that resulted in increased audience awareness and understanding of the core message(s).
Demonstrated ability to build relationships, integrate strategies, and connect the dots between messages, timing and activities under other leaders influence.
Experience developing and executing successful communication programs for large organizations.
Ability to create opportunities to increase audience awareness and understanding of core messages to enhance reputation.
Ability to build relationships, integrate strategies, and create alignment with messages, timing and activities being carried out by other communication professionals.
8+ years of experience in Communications role, with increasing level of accountability, preferably within health care industry
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
