We’re looking for a Writer to join us at Heart Haus, the internal agency at CVS Health, supporting our Health Plan businesses – Aetna and CVS Caremark. If you’re a writer who’s looking for your next big challenge and a chance to do your best work in the health care space, we should talk.

Reporting to a Creative Group Manager and working closely with the Associate Creative Director (ACD), the Writer will partner with a team of Art Director’s to support the writing and ideation for various projects across brand and marketing communications.This individual must have a strong portfolio with a variety of writing samples. Ideally, the candidate has experience writing across all digital media, including social. Technical excellence is also necessary: top-notch writing and editing skills, including knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling and grammar. Experience in an agency (or in house agency) that values the power of superior creative, partnership and collaboration. You must have the ability to pitch your creative ideas to the ACD and Creative Director.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Generate and support innovative creative writing ideas that adhere to the brand vision and brand standards of two Health Plan brands under one roof, juggling multiple projects and partners

  • Bring ideas and creative to life across a wide scope of unique projects through innovation and collaboration with the creative team

  • Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with peers

  • Apply deep and demonstrated experience in writing for a broad range of deliverables that include paid, earned and owned channels that include: OLV, display, print, email, DM, and social

  • Successfully use skills and knowledge to create compelling themes, ideas and designs that are on brand, and meet or exceed business objectives

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of working as a Writer at an advertising agency and/or corporate environment

  • Must be able to work onsite 3 days a week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health care experience

  • Experience working in creative marketing agencies or marketing organizations

  • Proven track record as a Writer, with a portfolio filled with examples of how their contributions assisted in the development of breakthrough creative

  • Must have top-notch writing and editing skills, including knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling and grammar

  • Ability to generate and support impactful creative writing ideas and executions that deliver and adhere to the brand vision and brand standards while ensuring consistency

  • Ability to understand a marketing brief and translate the input into ideas

  • Have the ability to sell creative ideas

  • Well organized and able to communicate ideas and develop strategies

  • Strong team player with enthusiasm, positive attitude and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Technical skills include the Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and proficient on a Mac; experience with Figma, Miro and Gen AI is helpful

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising/Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience ( 4 years)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $122,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
