The Kids Group of Wolverine Worldwide drives the design and development of children’s shoes under the company’s portfolio of industry-leading brands, including Merrell®, Sperry®, Saucony®, Hush Puppies® and Keds®. As experts in children’s footwear, the Kids Group team is dedicated to creating comfortable, durable and stylish shoes to take kids from first steps to the school yard. The Kids Group of Wolverine Worldwide distributes through leading retailers in the U.S. and globally in approximately 200 countries and territories

The Kids Group Marketing Director will drive and lead the marketing strategy for the Kids Group portfolio of brands (Saucony, Merrell, Keds, Hush Puppies, Sperry, and Caterpillar).

  • Directs the development of strategic marketing plans that supports all marketing functional areas.

  • Leads, in collaboration with brand leadership, the development of long-term global brand strategies inclusive of key product and key marketing stories.

  • Responsible for consistent global brand voice. Leads communication efforts with partners to ensure global product positioning and objectives are defined.

  • Creates KPIs, evaluate program success, communicates results of sell-in & sell-through in markets. Provides solutions based on results.

  • Directs and ensures delivery of the creative brief process.

  • Leads the global marketing asset strategy.

  • Develops tradeshow marketing plans

  • Develops and leads consumer insights strategy ensuring consumer insights are imbedded cross functionally with a global view

  • Develops and owns the marketing budget.

  • Ability to Influence cross-functional teams (Adult Global Marketing Teams, Product Marketing, and Matrix brand partners including our Direct-to-Consumer Division) to develop/refine product concepts, including: product definitions and marketing campaigns

  • Collaborate with global brand marketing teams to develop and understanding of adult brand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience; Responsible for translating for the kids group audience;

  • Provides strategic direction and feedback to direct reports (two marketing managers) and to Kids Creative Team

  • Ability to roll-up one’s sleeves and work in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

  • Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.

  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

  • Bachelor's degree required/MBA preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • 8+ years of marketing experience. Global experience preferred.

  • Proven leadership skills with at least 3 years’ experience at the manager level.

  • Commanding public speaking presence.

  • Excellent written and presentation skills.

  • Proven track record for leading and developing new initiatives.

  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.

  • Comfortable in fast-changing, fast paced environment with tight deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
