Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division (CSD) is leading the global democratization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) to accelerate translational research and improve clinical outcomes.

Contributing to the mission:

The Strategic Partnerships Manager is tasked with owning and cultivating the relationship with crucial CRO, laboratory, and bio-banking partners. Responsibilities also include contracting, crafting program statements of work (SOW), and collaborating with colleagues within and outside the department. This role is crucial for the timely execution and success of oncology Companion Diagnostics (CDx) programs and the therapeutic pipeline of Pharma partners.

A day in the life:

  • Present and sell the CSD value proposition up to the C-Suite level at CROs, and ensure total account agreement and happiness across global sites.

  • Act as the Thermo Fisher Scientific liaison representing the company and its pharma partners to CROs for all aspects of the CDx program.

  • Protect and grow CDx and strategic programs at CRO sites, by improving and developing CRO partner’s capabilities through excellent account management.

  • Lead team execution at CRO site from development and planning, contracting, site logistics, and cross-functional core teams’ coordination on planning and activities.

  • Own CRO partner-related initiatives and issues, and work with appropriate teams to develop and resolve them respectively.

  • Gain team members' support and secure interpersonal resources to elevate CRO partnership status and remove barriers to growth and development.

  • Collaborate with CSD sales and support teams as well as across divisions to ensure visibility on activities and alignment on strategic goals.

  • Lead business and program reviews with all key CRO collaborators, internal and external.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Biological Sciences, is required. An MBA or an advanced degree in the sciences is desirable.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of combined account management, product management, project management experience and/or commercial strategic experience with an emphasis in life sciences/pharma space.

  • Commercial sales/business development/account leadership skills preferred. CRO outsourcing experience is also preferred.

  • Oncology/genomic background is required.

  • IVD experience and Regulatory knowledge (global) are preferred.

  • Pharma development experience is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

We are in search of a candidate with a proven track record in a national or key account position. Understanding NGS, oncology, and the clinical/diagnostic laboratory environment is essential. You must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, organizational, planning, process development, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Has a solid background in market and account development, crafting and implementing successful strategies that meet account goals.

  • Possesses strong analytical capabilities in order to assess and understand profitability of customer relationships.

  • Exhibits innovative thinking, meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and a robust desire to achieve results.

  • Possesses strong listening skills and effective oral, written, and presentation delivery skills.
