Location/Division Specific Information
The Sr. Marketing Manager for the Biosciences Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific is a member of the North America Market Development team, responsible for leading and implementing strategic and tactical Go-to-Market and demand generation plans for our Cell Biology business unit within the Bioscience division of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

How will you make an impact?
The successful candidate will be a proven, results oriented leader who will coordinate closely with the Bioscience Global Market Development team, Marketing Operations, Product Management, Commercial Sales, and Executive Management to help develop, lead, and execute integrated marketing programs designed to achieve North American sales, marketing, and revenue goals.
The successful candidate will act as project leader and liaison to internal and external customers to influence the marketing campaign messages and convert them into effective marketing programs leading to revenue, enhanced customer satisfaction, and market growth in a dynamic environment.
This individual contributor role is a high visibility position. The successful candidate should be able to contribute to the tactical marketing goals for a large business and be productive and additive to the vision of the leaders of the North American Commercial Operations and the Bioscience business within 120 days.
What will you do?
Drive strategic and tactical marketing activities for the Cell Biology business unit for all stages of the sales funnel.
Gather feedback from customers, regional counterparts, and field sales to identify new market trends, opportunities and competitive challenges. Use this information to provide input to inform broader business/market development strategy and drive a sustainable competitive advantage as a strategic partner.
Achieve financial and market goals for designated portfolio.
Monitor and report on effectiveness of business performance and segments by gathering data and analytics to make strategic recommendations.
Lead cross-functional teams as an individual contributor to develop tactical action plans that drive growth in key channels and/or customer segments.
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or related biological sciences discipline
Masters' degree in life sciences and/or MBA in marketing or business preferred
6+ years' experience in a strategic/tactical marketing role and/or product management/marketing preferred
Lab experience in life sciences and/or product management experience and/or sales experience preferred
Familiarity with Agile marketing practices preferred
Technical knowledge in cell biology and cell and gene therapy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A strong marketing performance history of bringing customer value and sales and marketing strategies including web, ecommerce, social and other digital channels to success.
A strong understanding of marketing functions, planning, strategy and execution; life science research markets and competitors.
A strong understanding of business case development, presentation skills and overall business acumen.
A collaborative ability to work on problems of routine to diverse scope; influence cross-functional peer groups without direct authority; and identify problems, answer questions, and gain cooperation of others to implement efficient solutions in a large matrix environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business problems and identify business needs out of data
Ability to provide strategic guidance and expertise to the broader organization
Ability to effectively communicate go-to-market strategy, metrics, successes, failures, best practices etc to improve the overall marketing efficiency
Ability to take a proactive approach along cross-functional lines in working through various levels of operating mechanisms to include internal and external partners in order to achieve goals of the company, customer, and colleagues
