Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Market Development Manager– Nucleic Acid Therapeutics in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Sr. Market Development Manager will generate awareness and demand for a nucleic acid therapeutics product portfolio. The successful individual will create a portfolio marketing strategy and drive the deployment of compelling customer-centric content marketing campaigns that drive new customer acquisition, deepen engagement, and motivate customers to take action.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic marketing plans for a nucleic acid therapeutics product portfolio, including analysis of customer segments, key customer accounts, competitor analysis, business trends, and market opportunities.

  • Closely partner with product management to identify and develop market opportunities related to emerging applications for product portfolio

  • Work closely with regional market development managers to build and deploy regionalized plans to support product portfolio

  • Implement integrated, multi-channel marketing programs for product portfolios

  • Use segment-specific content to help drive awareness, demand, and conversion

  • Partner with internal and external agency teams to create marketing content

  • Support the commercial team by developing salesforce training and technical customer education material in collaboration with product management, R&D, and commercial teams

  • Partner with the digital and content teams to develop digital initiatives including authoring content for webpages, display advertising, search engine marketing (SEM) and optimization (SEO), social, and automation approaches

  • Use performance dashboards to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities; report on these metrics regularly and optimize tactics to improve performance

Keys to success:

Education

  • BS or MS in a scientific or bio-pharmaceutical-related field is preferred

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business, with previous work experience in biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceutical industry is also acceptable.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience marketing within the life science or bio-pharmaceutical industries.

  • Experience in developing marketing strategy including segmentation, competitive analysis, value proposition, communication channels, marketing mix, campaign development, and staging and pacing of tactical programs.

  • Experience gaining stakeholder alignment and leading/working in matrixed structured teams.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.

  • Ability to identify and understand new application uses for existing technology and new product introductions.

  • Ability to distill complex information into concise and easy-to-understand concepts.

  • Possess excellent project management, organization, time-management, planning, and budgeting skills.

  • Possess strong analytical skills to translate metrics into practical business decisions.

  • Global travel to external conferences, internal meetings, and customer meetings up to 10% of the time.
