Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located within the Genetic Testing Solutions Group part of the Genetic Sciences Division at Thermo Fisher.

How will you make an impact?

The objective of this position is to support a portfolio of products that provide value-added growth for the Clinical Business Unit in the Genetic Testing Solutions (GTS) Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Senior Manager, Product Management is a key member of the Clinical Product Management organization and is responsible for driving and executing programs to support product adoption, improve financial performance, and reduce risk. The Senior Manager, Product Management partners with sales and other business functions to provide product support, drive product adoption and serve customers globally.

What will you do?

  • Work collaboratively with sales and other business functions to ensure customers are supported and well served

  • Ensure complex customer inquiries involving our growing portfolio of clinical products are addressed and resolved

  • Represent product management in key escalations

  • Analyze trends and make recommendations to the rest of the Product Management team and R&D about potential product improvements

  • Partner with the rest of the Product Management team and other business functions including Regulatory, Market Development, Service and Support and Sales to ensure the successful registration and launch of clinical products in new geographies

  • Use market knowledge and financial justification to prioritize and champion initiatives to improve product portfolio and reduce risk in alignment with product health needs

  • Role model 4-I values and create an environment that encourages others to demonstrate the 4-I values

  • Support a learning culture of continuous improvement by identifying and actively participating in and/or leading process improvement initiatives as needed

  • Coach and mentor a team of two Product Managers

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline required

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Management

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry and solid understanding of regulatory processes

  • Experience in people management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Detail oriented, analytical, and data driven

  • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, optimism and a “can do” attitude

  • Ability to influence and build relationships across different business functions and business units

  • Passionate about challenges, problem solving, and learning new things

  • Is customer-centric and keenly aware of markets, trends, and competitors

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
