Commonwealth Financial Network Senior Director, Marketing Technology and Operations in Waltham, Massachusetts
Are you a forward-thinking, self-motivated marketing operations leader with in-depth experience at designing, managing, and executing efficient and scalable workflows and systems? As our senior director of marketing technology and operations, you will take responsibility for the overall productivity of our Marketing department.
In this highly visible position, you will represent our firm’s Anything but Common® philosophy and steadfast dedication to indispensable service as you manage the day-to-day work of individual employees, the tools and technology they use, and the various production and automation needs that we face on an ad hoc basis—all with a drive for getting things done.
Managing resource allocation and workflow of the Marketing team to reflect consistent increases in team productivity
Working closely with the chief marketing officer to oversee budgeting and expenses and prepare performance metrics and reports
Orchestrating the annual marketing planning and budget process (e.g., milestones, participants, actions, templates, calendar); ensuring that Marketing’s goals are aligned with field and advisory objectives
Partnering with internal teams to develop and implement a flexible, user-friendly, self-serve project intake interface that allows users to request and monitor marketing work efforts
Establishing standardized workflows and processes for all teams within Marketing, keeping in mind unique needs across an integrated department
Guiding the system configuration and ongoing evolution of marketing technologies to align with department and firm business goals
Directing all marketing operations functions from processes to marketing systems, including web development, workflows, service agreements, reporting, email and database management, and other technology elements
Providing an integrated marketing automation vision and roadmap for high-performance marketing and digital customer experience initiatives in partnership with internal Commonwealth departments
Overseeing the evaluation, selection, and management of vendors by technology and creative teams
Supervising personnel responsible for the management of Marketing’s production and fulfillment functions
Acting as the liaison across Marketing in troubleshooting issues, ensuring seamless communications, and contributing strategic oversight and continuous improvement efforts
Exceptional strategic, critical thinking, and conceptual abilities; ability to contribute to strategic planning discussions
Strong experience with vendor management and fulfillment
Expert in MS Office suite and other spreadsheet and presentation tools
Ability to create workflow and Gantt charts using project management tools
Superior time management, reporting, and organizational skills
Outstanding listening skills; adept at identifying and communicating business and functional requirements
Team player with a passion for excellence
Advanced relationship-building skills
Additional Skills and Knowledge
8+ years in a marketing operations role with a focus on resource productivity, process redesign, and technology and automation management
Knowledge of agile project management concepts and execution
In-depth experience with marketing insights and analytics; data enrichment and management
Strong understanding of marketing automation tools and technologies
Experience integrating strategy with CRM software and marketing automation tools
