Fresenius Medical Care North America PR & Media Relations Manager ( Investor Relations, Strategic Development & Communications) in Waltham, Massachusetts

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

As a key member of the Fresenius Medical Care Investor Relations, Strategic Development & Communications (IRSDC) and reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the Manager, PR and Media Relations is responsible for overseeing and executing media relations and public relations s strategies that helps raise awareness in support of company’s business objectives and the overall corporate narrative. The Manager, PR and Media Relations will work with national, regional and international media to raise the overall profile of the Fresenius Medical Care. Cultivate strategic and thoughtful media and visibility opportunities that help position and drive the positive reputation of Fresenius Medical Care. This position will report to the Head of Media Relations.

  • Manage external media relations and outreach, including the development of media pitches, press releases, talking points and messaging.

  • Develop relationships with top-tier regional, national and international media outlets.

  • Develop media briefings and guidance for media opportunities and interviews.

  • Help manage and execute annual PR and earned media plan that secures visibility — proactively and reactively — for Fresenius Medical Care

  • Contribute to the development of media and PR strategies for segment and governmental public relations campaigns, announcements, events and partnerships.

  • Work with stakeholders from across the business and functions to execute communications efforts

  • Cultivate story opportunities for the CEO, executive team, subject matter experts.

  • Oversee development of media lists and database. Develop metrics reports that highlight the impact of the media relations activities

  • Create reputational and crisis communications messaging and media strategy. Monitor potential and emerging issues and help develop organizational response.

  • Manage media training sessions for spokespeople, including executives and subject matter experts.

EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • 5+ years of professional PR or communications experience required

  • 3+ years of management experience preferred

  • Necessary Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in pitching media outlets across platforms, including print, broadcast and digital

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and ability to work closely with high-level executives and spokespeople

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Knowledge of news media including print, digital, and broadcast

  • Knowledge of media database and tracking tools

  • Strong news judgment and ability to work independently under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects

  • Good collaborator and can do attitude

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into effective messages

  • Fluency in English required! Additional language a plus!
