Commonwealth Financial Network Marketing Agile Team Lead in Waltham, Massachusetts

Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for communication and project management? As an Agile team lead, your role will be a blend of Scrum Master and project manager. In this role, you will be responsible for details, process, quality control, and team coordination, as well as being a strong advocate for the team and marketing leadership. You will work closely with assigned relationship managers to understand the priorities being given to the team while providing insight into the team’s ability to handle work based on bandwidth. You will put your project management skills to use, prioritizing resources against deadlines and ensuring that project requirements are understood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing resources against deadlines; ensuring that work meets the definition of ready

  • Building out work requests and projects within Workfront

  • Working with Marketing’s relationship managers to identify context and project needs

  • Assigning specific work to team members, communicating often and effectively to understand progress and/or obstacles

  • Managing current workload within the team based on priorities set by the relationship manager

  • Negotiating interactions within the team as well as with external stakeholders

  • Preparing work for the team within Workfront, ensuring that necessary process steps are captured, as well as milestone due dates

  • Ensuring that team follows Agile principles and best practices

  • Scheduling and leading recurring stand-up and other team meetings

  • Facilitating kickoff meetings and discovery sessions to provide the team with the necessary context to plan, estimate, or execute work requests

  • Leading team through planning, managing, and executing on larger scope projects

  • Identifying minimum viable product (MVP) opportunities to deliver, where appropriate

  • Communicating with vendors to gather specs, procure and review estimates, negotiate cost and turnaround time, place orders, coordinate proof and approvals, and facilitate delivery of final product

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to decipher between emergencies and derailments

  • Critical-thinking skills, with an ability to resolve conflict when obstacles arise during project life cycle by clearing blind spots and anticipating needs

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, business, or related field required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • Familiarity with Agile development philosophy and methodologies a plus

  • Experience with Workfront project management software a plus
