Location/Division Specific Information
This position is in the Laboratory Products Division within the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group.
The ideal candidate would be located in Carlsbad, CA or Waltham, MA.
How will you make an impact?
You will be responsible for the development and management of content that spans across portfolios and other divisions across the company to generate awareness and demand for relevant Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions. You will lead the strategy, planning, management, deployment and promotion of unique and compelling customer-centric content marketing campaigns that drive new customer acquisition, deepen engagement, and motivate customers to take action.
What will you do?
Create, curate, organize, deploy and repurpose high-quality and engaging content to drive content marketing programs to support divisional goals. Match global life science and content marketing mega trends with business objectives to develop and manage a global content strategy
Develop and project manage the launch of content campaigns through digital channels, ensuring optimal customer experience and demonstrating content and channel-specific ROI
Gather feedback/ insights from customers, internal stakeholders and 3rd party data sources, to identify new scientific emerging applications or workflow opportunities. The candidate will need to be proficient and comfortable discussing the core applications with our scientists and customers then using this information to develop a content strategy for that application or area of research.
Develop content frameworks that integrate products from across LPE that are scalable and flexible enough to support the needs of the division's campaigns, various channels, regions and businesses
Define content governance standards and processes for high-impact, high-investment content (including imagery, messaging, channel mix etc.) for divisional campaigns (and other projects as required)
Develop streamlined processes for regionalization of global content, including translations
Perform content gap analyses and work to fill identified gaps that will drive customers more effectively through the buyer journey
Work with the internal creative services team and divisional operations to effectively create, curate and manage content assets enabling simple updates and repurposing to target relevant audiences
Lead operating mechanisms to share content development plans and execution with various stakeholders
Work with third party vendors to assist in the creation of content assets as necessary
Work with the analytics, digital and demand generation teams to develop and report out metrics for content performance measurement and improvement
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field required.
Master's degree preferred
Life Science Degree preferred
7-10 years marketing/ content marketing experience preferred
1-3 years of life science background preferred
Experience with Agile marketing/ methodology preferred
Background in journalism/editorial mindset preferred
2-3 years commercial/ customer facing experience (sales, technical/ field support) preferred
Experience with Adobe Analytics, Power BI and Content Management Systems preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Creative individual, who can generate unique and impactful content ideas as well as devise efficient ways to execute
Demonstrated technical or creative writing, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and articulate through various media formats
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team, handling multiple conflicting priorities along with the ability to influence across the organization, without direct authority. Identifies problems, answers questions, gain cooperation of others and implement efficient solutions.
Exceptional project management skills, attention to detail, strong time management skills and deadline driven
Fast and self-starter learner, with ability to work in a dynamic team adapting quickly to a changing environment
Strong understanding and experience with digital media and how they influence customer behavior
Analytical and able to make justifiable data-driven decisions to drive growth, maintain a designated budget and provide metrics to ensure strong return on investment
Ability to lead and provide functional area guidance and expertise to the broader team.
Provide regular oral and written communication of metrics, successes, failures, best practices etc. to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team.
Must be willing to learn and take coaching from peers and supervisors/superiors, both in success and failure.
Must have a can-do attitude, as well as the ability to overcome failures to produce success with a 'never give up' approach.
