GROUP SUMMARY:

The divisions within the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group (LSLPG) are focused on setting the standards for serving science by providing customers with an innovative and broad life sciences portfolio, a product offering that includes virtually everything needed for the laboratory and a strong presence at bench

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain Excellence, the Director of Demand Planning Excellence collaborates across the organization for developing and deploying end-to-end demand planning solutions to optimize the Supply Chain in all divisions and global regions. This is a capability development, management, and continuous improvement role, makes recommendations for demand-planning process development, standardizes collaboration activities with business partners with a global centralized focus, and a broad-based view of supply-chain-planning activities. The role is a key enabler to an effective Integrated Business Planning (IBP) / Sales Inventory and Operation Planning (SIOP) process. This position may have direct or matrixed reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enables the successful implementation and maintenance of demand-planning processes standards and initiatives across regions, divisions, and business units.

  • Drives the appropriate metrics, (KPI’s) impacted by demand-planning activities and outputs. Determining methods to address and correct any demand-planning group behaviors that adversely affect the KPIs.

  • Responsible to align Demand Planning into the SIOP / IBP Process to achieve Segment/BU leadership sign-off on unconstrained demand plan integrating market and customer data into baseline forecast, identifying demand gaps and closure scenarios.

  • Continuously optimize and partner with demand planning leaders and business subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze each proposed process change (or project), along with an interdependency analysis with other business processes, as well as information, technology, and solution portfolios.

  • Matures and advances demand planning tools, analytics, and modeling approaches to enrich the forecasting process and create the standards for Demand Planning Excellence.

  • Drives financial partnership to ensure quality financial forecasts, including Avg. Selling price, mix, and margin to enable financial reconciliation.

  • Be a change agent within the supply chain, transforming strategic objectives into programs/projects.

  • Coordinate Training and Certifications for global Demand Planning talent; developing depth and expertise within the business at all levels of the organization

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management related fields.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred or 10+ years of relevant supply chain management experience, with at least 7 years of people management experience.

  • Specific experience in Demand Planning tool experience and/or implementation (Demantra, Kinaxis, SAP, or similar)

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Lean Manufacturing certification.

  • Six Sigma Green / Black Belt Certification.

  • APICS certification is strongly recommended.

  • Deep domain expertise in Demand or Supply Planning, ideally in the Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industries.

  • Sophisticated supply chain knowledge with validated experience building, standing up, scaling, and maturing demand planning processes.

  • Consistent track record with a continuous improvement methodology (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Experience working on projects using a variety of process redesign methods (such as business process re-engineering, value chain analysis, lean Six Sigma, or total quality management).

  • Knowledge of business systems and information technology running sophisticated supply chain activities

  • Strong discernment and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to recommend improvements

  • Strong leader with the ability to influence and lead across a large geographically diverse organization

  • Requires considerable interpretation of data, independent judgment, and good analytical ability to handle multifaceted situations

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
