Why You MatterAs the Director of Marketing Operations, you’ll manage Carbon Black’s demand funnel, marketing automation, lead nurturing, and measurement and analytics infrastructure, with an emphasis on growing our business by enabling effective ROI positive campaigns. You’ll work cross functionally to ensure we have the right infrastructure and attribution models to analyze lead flow and funnel economics. You’ll partner with marketing and sales to optimize conversions, deliver key insights and recommendations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced hands-on operator who’s built and scaled opportunity pipeline and revenue via demand generation activities on a global level. This role reports to the VP of Marketing Operations & Strategy. You’ll be a key advisor to the marketing, sales, finance, IT and executive teams, and you’ll work in an amazing culture on a high-functioning team. Our preference is for this position to be based at our HQ in Waltham but for the right candidate, you should be able to work from a home office and commute as needed to our Waltham, MA headquarters
What You’ll Do
Optimizes our global marketing automation strategy by applying best practices to our use of marketing automation tools and resources. Help with implementation of lead-to-sales funnel automation processes, policies, scoring methodology, workflows, service-level agreements with Sales, marketing programs and workflows.
Defines and executes improvements to enhance productivity, conversion rates, programs/campaign ROI, and sales growth.
Identifies trends, best practices and technologies to drive lead acquisition, improve conversions, optimize email marketing and support the growth of the business.
Becomes marketing funnel expert and improves targeting by continuously partnering with stakeholders in improving the database quality using tactics such as data enrichment, list segmentation, and batch list loading.
Develops and documents business processes and workflows to improve overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Enable through technology, highly effective demand generation processes and execution to acquire, qualify, distribute, nurture, and analyze inbound marketing leads to align with sales revenue targets
Oversee the email program efficiency and deliverability
Drive a culture of rapid test and learn to discover new and innovative ways to scale revenue and improve ROI
Evangelize the relationship between marketing spend and revenue and support a predictable model that can be used as a key strategic lever to scale the business
Design and implement the life-of-a-lead process, including lead scoring, lead nurturing, and account-based-marketing (ABM) programs.
Lead technical aspects of marketing and sales system integrations including the Marketo marketing automation platform, analytics (Qlik, Google Analytics), Salesforce.com, internal databases and external data providers
Manage third party marketing technology, data augmentation and lead acquisition vendors, contractors, and internal resources.
Lead evaluations of marketing technology and related investments
What You’ll Bring
BA or BS degree
10+ years of progressive career experience and leadership in marketing operations, demand generation, customer acquisition, or analytics / BI
Proven technical, analytical and quantitative skills coupled with effective communication skills (verbal and written) that enable translating complex data and/ or issues into productive. discussions / actions at the executive and operational levels
Strategic thinker, but hands-on and a strong team player who can jump in to support the team to solve problems
Strong project management and planning skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously for seamless execution
Ability to work well under pressure and at a rapid pace
Proven success building full-stack B2B marketing funnels and exceeding ROI targets at a growing startup
Expert in Marketo and SFDC
Deep knowledge of demand generation strategies and testing methodologies
Team player with strong cross-functional skills
