This role supports the Specialty Diagnostics Group (SDG) and the new Rapid Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) business unit.. We are focused on increasing access to affordable innovations in diagnostic testing and enabling data-driven decisions.
How will you make an impact?
As a well-rounded and experienced communications professional, you will bring your leadership in executive communications, change management, story-telling, content development and communications planning to reach both internal and external audiences using appropriate channels and tactics. You will contribute to and execute on communications strategies led by the Specialty Diagnostics Communications team that focus on creating demand for our products and connecting internal and external audiences to the company and each other by proactively developing tailored messaging and narratives, serving as the communications advisor and ensuring the right information is shared with internal and external audiences through a formal communications strategy and plan.
What will you do?
Create, implement and measure success of communications that drive engagement among employees, connecting employees to the company Mission, the business and each other.
Serve as a key contributing communications member on a variety of programs and initiatives across the group.
Contribute to the Group’s quarterly communications measurement cycle and all team-level initiatives and assignments, sharing knowledge of the businesses supported.
Maintain an editorial calendar and provide executive-level internal communications support for senior leadership.
Partner with HR communications function on internal change communications initiatives, including developing business level key messages, talking points, FAQs and other materials to support change.
Manage internal communications channels and platforms (email, SharePoint sites, enterprise social media channels, video streaming, etc.) according to the processes set forth by the SDG team.
Support public relations efforts by working closely with other members of the SDG communications team.
Support crisis communication as needed.
Develop slides and talking points for town halls, sales meetings and other significant internal events and activities.
Support RDS employee communication, including supporting business level key messages, talking points, FAQs and other materials through quarterly town hall meetings and HR initiatives
Minimum 5+ years progressive experience in corporate communications or internal communications.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience partnering optimally with senior executives, and able to develop content in their voice and style.
Experience in social media platforms, intranet content development and other communication technologies.
Experience utilizing visual and emerging communications elements to create compelling messages and elevate audience engagement.
Experience developing channels and communications plans to support business strategy.
Experience executing change and crisis communications with care and independence.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to communicate about complex topics clearly, concisely and effectively using the appropriate narrative and voice.
Business knowledge and intellectual curiosity to learn about business strategies, competitive landscape and scientific technologies.
Professional writer and editor and with the ability to creatively and expressively deploy channel-specific content.
Master of written and verbal communications with outstanding attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
Combination of strategic and creative problem solver and hands-on tactician.
Not afraid to seek answers and develop solutions.
An interest in science or diagnostics.
Knowledge of how to work as a cohesive team driven by trust, openness and accountability.
Project management skills to keep multiple projects on track, and the know-how to focus on the most important initiatives at any given moment.
