Job Description Summary:
This person will take our external and internal communications programs to the next level. Reporting to the CMO, they will be responsible for evolving our media relations and social media strategies to increase brand awareness and product visibility, expose Rocket’s unique company culture to new customers and potential hires, and rethink the way we share information with one another.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Create and execute on external communications strategies that help build awareness of the Rocket brand, culture and products, building affinity and preference as well as driving conversions.
Manage our external PR agency to ensure execution to awareness goals, media targets, and content calendars.
Ensure PR/media/social interlock in support of demand generation programs, product launches, live and virtual events, speaking opportunities and more.
Leverage existing and emerging channels to reach a range of ecosystem members, including customers, media, analysts, partners, potential hires, and more.
Build relationships with key stakeholders across department and geographies to identify media needs and opportunities, develop unique business unit strategies, and nurture/grow a network of spokespeople and advocates.
Establish goals and KPIs for media relations, influencer relations and social media programs, aligned to overall marketing and company objectives.
Media train and brief internal spokespeople as needed
Serve as internal subject matter expert regarding print and digital media trends, social media strategies, and other earned media efforts.
Build new influencer relations program in partnership with Rocket Forum owner.
Develop and execute on strategy to increase social media audiences, reach and engagement, working with marketing services agency as needed for paid efforts.
Manage corporate blog content calendar, working with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure a steady cadence of thought leadership, human interest, and event coverage.
Manage Internal Communications specialist, working together to update internal communications strategy to help improve cross-department knowledge sharing, assist with executive communications, build plans around HR efforts and more.
Develop and deploy employee content sharing and advocacy program leveraging new software tools.
10-15 years in media relations/communications roles, with progressively increasing responsibility
At least 5 years in-house/client-side experience
Creative thinker with experience turning raw ideas into reality
Experience managing PR agencies and content calendars
Solid experience coordinating successful PR campaigns
Expertise in different social networks, including LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Confidence to serve as a company spokesperson
Experience managing people
Ability to foster long-term relationships with key professionals
Experience using PR and social media analytics tools (Cision, Meltwater, Hootsuite, Sprout, etc.)
Experience working as a member of a B2B corporate marketing organization
Understanding of paid media / paid social tools and strategies
Working knowledge of website analytics tools
Copy editing and proofreading skills
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, English (or equivalent experience)
Occasional travel to company events
