National Grid is hiring a Clean Transportation Category Manager for our Customer Organization in our MA and UNY locations.

You will be responsible for creating, launching, and scaling products and services that get more electric vehicles on the road by helping customers build EV chargers and electrify their fleets. In-flight products include infrastructure to connect EV charging stations to the electric grid, fleet advisory studies, and managed EV charging.
Accountable for the overall profitability of the category (“Own the P&L” for Public & Workplace / Fleet Clean Transportation products); this includes overall product success, new revenue identification, and cross-functional coordination
Brings new products to market in support of National Grid’s priorities by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development needs; leading proposals to state regulators and achieving regulatory approvals; and establishing implementation plans with marketing, engineering, sales, IT and other functions
Makes investment decisions within the category to ensure there is a healthy pipeline of existing products and services as well as a robust pipeline of new ideas for future products and services.
Assesses market competition and landscape by comparing the company's products to the alternatives. Identifies market failures that can present an opportunity for the company to fill a gap.
Develops business and investment plans that would maximize various evolving economic value streams within the regulated utility business.
Develops go-to-market plans that include introduction and promotion of new products by developing time-integrated plans with marketing, sales and jurisdictional business unit teams.
Ensures the effectiveness of existing products and services in the marketplace and establishes continuous improvements actions and/or update schedules to reposition/correct any issues that might be preventing the full development of a product or a service.
Determines customers' needs and desires by executing ongoing market research
Ensures that Public & Workplace / Fleet Clean Transportation products and services support the company’s overall strategy and goals. Also ensures that those products and services are meeting the expectations of regulators and stakeholders.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Skilled at working within and influencing multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent communication skills from peer group to senior management.
BA in business related field or BS in engineering or Advance Degree in Product Management, 8+ years of experience and 3+ experience as a business leader, managing a team is a plus.
Experience in clean energy is preferred. Ideal if the person has experience in the transportation category.
Is recognized as a credible, knowledgeable, and effective functional leader who drives change, builds collaborative networks across multiple geographies and end to end processes, and delivers results.
Knowledge and experience in utility operations and regulation is a plus.
Knowledge and experience of Product Management and Change Management.
Is visionary in understanding the issues which National Grid is facing today with the ability to make complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and easy to understand.
