The Sr. Manager, Strategic Program Management position provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated individual, who is looking to make a positive impact in cell and gene therapy. This role will provide program management and help drive strategy for a portfolio of cell and gene therapy products that will enable our customers to develop the therapies of tomorrow. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate exceptional facilitation, organizational, communication, analytical and influencing skills.

This role will be a member of the Cell and Gene Therapy strategic business segment within the Bioproduction Group, which provides biotechnology and biopharmaceutical customers with integrated solutions across the entire Bioproduction workflow. The role will report to the General Manager of Cell and Gene Therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development, Deployment and Program Management

  • Assist GM in working with stakeholders in product management, R&D, commercial, marketing and operations to establish and manage the priorities for the business

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve goals

  • Consolidate updates on key CGT strategic initiatives and R&D programs across the Group

  • Create deliverables for key report-outs to Group and to the broader cell and gene therapy organization within Thermo Fisher

  • Business Development

  • Help evaluate/analyze new opportunities from customers/commercial/product management/R&D (ROI, market research, business case development), and influence Bioproduction business units to act on identified attractive opportunities

  • Market Research and Assessment

  • Help monitor cell and gene therapy markets and customer trends

  • Leverage competitor intelligence and internal databases to develop and prioritize market opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required, major in business or life sciences/technical field preferred. MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

  • 5+ years of program management, strategy, or product management experience preferred, including working with and supporting global teams, and interfacing with executive level leads.

  • Exposure to life sciences is required, biopharma manufacturing industry and cell and gene therapy preferred.

  • Expert Microsoft Office skills required.

  • Experience with Power BI reporting tools desired.

  • 25% travel
