Thermo Fisher Scientific Associate Product Manager in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Associate Product Manager will help manage the portfolio as part of the Laboratory Products division. You will play a key role in managing a market-leading portfolio including consumables and equipment that enable scientists to store and prepare samples for research, drug and vaccine development, as well as for COVID-19 testing, the position will support driving global portfolio strategies, identification and development of innovative solutions, market requirements, use scenarios that lead to growth in new and existing segments of interest.


  • Support Product Managers on new product introduction, drive successful new product introduction, developing customer requirements and product positioning

  • Support key business initiatives and projects including:

  • Owning manual allocations to customers

  • Supporting the SIOP process

  • Developing and managing product master data

  • Product Vitality and Lifecycle management

  • Preparing customer and channels notifications

  • Determining improvement to product features

  • Support planning and execution of NPI activities

  • Manage web and e-Commerce planning for specified products

  • Collecting and synthesizing Voice of the Customer (VOC) acquisition

  • Market intelligence acquisition and reporting

  • Conducting pricing analysis and providing recommendation

  • Conducting competitive analysis and benchmarking

  • Maintain close interaction with field organization (e.g., sales and technical support) through training and active participation in the sales process, including customer visits, pricing tactics, and customer support.

  • Champion successful launches through requirements, development, and commercialization.

  • Identifying, establishing, and managing strategic relationships with customers, suppliers and industry opinion leaders.

  • Work collaboratively with other product managers and key functional stakeholders across Thermo Fisher Scientific

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of three years of experience in sales, product management, manufacturing/engineering, or R&D, ideally in the life sciences

Desired characteristics

  • Familiarity with life science manufacturing

  • Familiarity with medical device

  • Product management and product life cycle experience

  • Product line management skills and exposure to broad product portfolios (including rationalization)
