POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the development, management, and/or promotion of TIAA Traditional, TIAA’s flagship annuity. As part of the Product Management team you will be called upon to identify product and service needs, conduct competitive analysis, analyze trends, assess customer needs, develop new products and/or enhance features of existing products, independently lead initiatives in a dynamic environment, and work closely with operations, technology, business partners, training and sales management in supporting successful outcomes for the business and participants. This role requires an individual with a diverse array of communication, presentation and project management skills and experience working with colleagues from around the company to execute on goals. Ideal candidate has financial services industry knowledge, as well as product expertise in annuities along with an understanding of the role they play in generating lifetime income. Strong understanding of the wealth management and registered investment advisor marketplace is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Contributes to the development of thelong-term product strategy

  • Drives execution of annual product plan,working with broader product management team, with responsibility for specificinitiatives within the plan

  • Leads key project implementation effortsfrom conception through implementation

  • Monitors financials and other metrics andanalyzes product trends and identifies root causes

  • Coordinatesactivity/initiatives with others such as product lead and partners/stakeholders

  • Helpsdefine our message and partner with marketing professionals to create, maintainand deliver marketing campaigns and materials

  • Works closely with sales & servicemanagers formulating proactive strategies to drive engagement with field-facingteams through training, sales ideas, and other engagement efforts

  • Able to independently manage multiplepriorities, meet deadlines, and deliver business results.

  • Comfortable operating effectively in adynamic and changing environment (often with unstructured and/or virtual teams)

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5 or more years of experience in product/business management or otherwise related experience in financial services industry

Preferred

  • MBA or MSF strongly preferred

  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 desirable must be obtained within 120 days of hire date

  • Strong sales/marketing or program management orientation, with prior experience of socialization and execution of strategic goals

  • Strong presentation development abilities, in particular complex PowerPoint presentation skills, are highly desired

  • Knowledge of key competitors’ offers and industry trends is desired

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are desired
