Sensata Technologies, Inc. Product Marketing Manager in United States

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the regional Safety segment in our e-mobility group. The automotive industry is going through change and the marketing manager is in charge of defining strategy, marketing plans, and activities to grow our business with automotive OEM and Tier 1 customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our portfolio in active safety applications (e.g. braking, ADAS/autonomy). The role requires initiative, creativity, strong customer relationship-building, communication, and analytical skills.

The Product Marketing Manager will act as a link between all disciplines involved in defining & executing our growth strategy and must be able to manage technical and commercial topics and teams. Interfaces with Global Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales teams to develop new products to win New Business Opportunities while enhancing existing product lines. The PMM will report to the Global Safety Marketing Leader.

General Responsibilities

  • Develops marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena

  • Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace

  • Leads market research activities, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs

  • Establishes pricing strategies

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Develop marketing strategy and business plans and present regularly to management as well as reporting updates on results against business objectives.

  • Drive short-term and long-term revenue growth and shape our portfolio solutions offering:

  • Understand market trends, customers, vehicle systems, and technologies including competitive analysis.

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize competitive, legislative, and technical discontinuities that present opportunities or threats.

  • Build strategic, action-oriented business plans to grow share in existing applications, and identify paths to expand our addressable market (including new product development, technical partnerships, or M&A).

  • Lead cross-functional teams to create detailed customer proposals/quotations using financial tools, and present business cases for senior management approval.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to deliver new business opportunity closures.

  • Responsible for pricing strategy and profitability for all new business opportunities within segment.

  • Participate in the evaluation process, due diligence, and integration of potential acquisition(s) or business partnering activities.

Qualifications Required (Preferred):

Education and Experience

  • B.S. degree in engineering or marketing-related field

  • 3 years minimum experience in automotive and customer -facing roles preferred

  • Track record of successfully delivering revenue and market share growth.

  • Proactive approach. Analytical, logical, resourceful, creative, and results-driven. Able to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans.

  • Excellent presentation and customer-facing skills, relationship management with customers, vendors and partners.

  • Strong written and verbal English (foreign language fluency a plus).

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Willingness to travel: 10%-20% travel in North America, and overseas trips as required”
