For its Epigenetics division, Diagenode is looking for a highly motivated Biopharma Business Development Manager (North America) with experience in the epigenetics/ life science market, to expand our epigenomic services business in North America. This role will focus on promoting the services portfolio targeting the biotech and pharmaceutical market segments.
Role
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and tenacious sales focused person to drive our services business forward, manage, develop, expand customer base and increase sales in this region. This is a very visible role which requires a combination of industry, market and leadership skills to be successful in a fast moving high-technology environment.
Responsibilities
Initiate new contacts, penetrate and cultivate relationships with pharma accounts
Proactively prospect for new services business within existing accounts developing new medium- and long-term opportunities
Provide rigor around CRM updates, expense reporting, and other required business processes
Collect & leverage customer insights to promote further account pipeline development
Drive growth in Biopharma business across North America working closely with Territory Account Managers, Marketing and Tech Support teams
Identify and track customer needs, working collaboratively with internal resources to enhance customer satisfaction through sales process
Keep abreast of trends & new development in genomic services market
Manage and grow the biopharma brand equity of Hologic
Work in synch with North American staff to implement a dedicated Biopharma channel. Be the North American vertical leader to ensure structured Biopharma commercial execution
Develop high level relationships with leaders in the basic research, biomarker and pre-clinical drug development space to establish a footprint for Diagenode
Identify leads from trade shows, marketing campaigns, referrals and publications
Track and report weekly progress of sales and key opportunities to the Global Sales Manager
Attend tradeshows and manage exhibition booths
Work closely within the sales & marketing team to assist with targeted literature, product references & marketing campaigns
Continue to develop technical expertise learning from our R&D and technical support team & keep abreast of trends & new development in genomic services market
Required Qualifications
5+ years of industry experience (genomics and/or diagnostics), familiarity with epigenetics preferred
3+ years successful pharma service sales experience
Demonstrable knowledge of the Biopharma / Pharma market
Advanced degree in life sciences preferred
Experience with contact management database software, and MS Office
Organized, rigorous and independent with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong customer focus & business acumen
Strong sense of responsibility and team spirit
Extensive marketing and/or commercial and/or biopharma/pharma industry experience
Learning agility, flexibility and adaptability
Comfortable working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed environment with multiple collaborators and business needs
Location
This role can be based anywhere in North America near major airport – ideal location would be near a scientific hub, such as in Boston, MA or San Francisco, CA.

The total compensation range for this role is $225,000 - $295,000. This is based on a base salary and commission plan combination. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, territory/ geography, education, business needs, market demand and performance versus quota
