Location/Division Specific Information

The (e)Events Specialist is part of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) which accelerates innovation and improves productivity through process, portable and environmental solutions that take technology from the lab to the line and the field for life sciences manufacturing, industrial and safety applications

As (e)Events Specialist, you will plan, lead, and execute a wide range of corporate marketing events across the North American markets guided by our annual Marketing and Events plan. Events will range from organizing our presence at key industry conferences, to specialized tradeshows, and a range of webinars and digital events which you will deliver across the region. You will have full responsibility for handling associated event budgets and ensure we are delivering on target

You will work closely with the wider Marketing team and will possess a blend of business ownership, in person and digital events' expertise, ability to influence matrixed partners, agility, and communication clarity and will inspire with data & metrics

What will you do?

  • Plan and implement a wide range of in person, virtual and hybrid meetings and events in accordance with the divisional Marketing & Events Plan, ensuring alignment with Marketing and Sales teams and Corporate standards.

  • Collaborate with partner teams (Product Management, Downstream Marketing, etc.) to successfully plan and deliver on events strategy.

  • Analyze and report on divisional and regional events results and pro-actively provide recommendations for future event planning.

  • Control and track events budget plan.

  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.

  • Monitor and ensure the quality of all event components to ensure compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific brand standards.

  • Initial and approve invoices for accuracy from outside suppliers and process for payment

  • Drive customer data acquisition and profiling through events tactics.

  • Drive lead generation and conversion from contacts established at events, passing to the appropriate sales team and integrate into CRM systems.

  • Collaborate closely with external suppliers (creative agencies, booth production suppliers, mail houses, etc.) to design, produce and deliver events assets.

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business (BA) or related field; will consider equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 1-2+ years of experience in Event, Tradeshow and (virtual) Meeting Planning

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong project management, organizational, consulting and problem-solving skills.

  • Consistent track record to engage with digital technology for both internal and external partners benefit.

  • Creative problem solver who can generate innovative ideas and solutions and partner effectively with marketing and other creative teams.

  • Excellent written and oral communications and follow-through skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to identify, resolve problems and complete tasks with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to act in a highly autonomous capacity and work on the most complex problems with corporate visibility.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, experience in dealing with multiple and diverse internal partners, and interacting with business and technology partners across all organizational levels.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Participate in relevant user forums, conferences and online communities to stay current on standard methodologies and new product offerings
