EMCOR Group Project Operations Manager in Stoughton, Massachusetts

EMCOR Services Northeast seeks a Project Operations Manager to be responsible for management of all Projects functions as well as administrative support procedures. Responsible for project budgets, schedule, safety and compliance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for management of union pipefitting staff as well as our fabrication facilities.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop plans for the control and management of all Projects as well as Pipefitter development and productivity. 

  • Supervise compliance of employees with company objectives, operating policies, quality standards and safety. 

  • Responsible for maintaining positive customer relationships with customers and for helping to instill a quality customer service philosophy in all projects and administrative personnel. 

  • Review current and prospective projects/accounts and distribute project management resources to support our Sales Engineers.  

  • Develop and/or evaluate suggestions for improvement to Projects initiatives and methods whenever possible. 

  • Review and approve plans for the control and management of all accounts, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, technical engineering effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. 

  • Review job performance/progress against operating plans and standards. Provide reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approve changes in direction of plans. 

  • Present monthly reports on performance as requested by the COO or President. 

  • Develop and present matters to the COO or President which require his/her decision. 

  • Review and approve cost control reports, cost estimates and manpower and facilities requirement forecasts. 

  • Participate in trade/business associations that enhance the company's mission & business plan. 

  • Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives and business plans. 

  • Provide junior associates with a "role model" example of the company's business and work ethics as delineated in EMCOR’s Mission Statement. 

  • Ensure a safe work environment on all projects. Directly oversee and guide the company’s Safety Manager.

  • Retain fiscal responsibility of all projects managed by reporting Project Managers.

  • Establish budgets for the department as well as individual Project Managers.

  • Distribute new projects based on Project Managers abilities, customer relationships and current workload.

  • Facilitate project hand off meetings from pre-construction.

  • Schedule and facilitate project turnover meetings from Project Manager to field personnel.

  • Schedule pre-construction site visits with appropriate Project Managers or Field Supervisor.

  • Conduct annual reviews of all Project Managers.

  • Assist Project Managers with developing goals and review their progress.

  • Conduct close liaison and coordination with vendors, customers and sub-contractors.

  • Maintain close contact with Owners and Decision Makers on Projects.

  • Conduct a quarterly WIP Review on jobs >$250K, review audits.

  • Assist Project Managers & Sales Engineers in accurately forecasting revenue.

  • Assist in Billings as required and monitor over and under billing.

  • Assist in Change Orders as required.

  • Assist in and review Estimates prepared by reporting Project Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in field operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC&R systems and related supporting utilities.

  • Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry.

  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.

  • Good Verbal and written communications skills.

  • Computer Skills, Excel
