MassMutual Strategic Development Consultant in Springfield, Massachusetts

Role Characteristics:

  • Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that have short to medium-term focus

  • Works with minimal guidance on more complex projects

  • Capable of applying knowledge to handle all but the most complex problems independently

  • Individual typically has at least 5-7 yrs. of related experience

  • Identifies resource skillset requirements to ensure adequate support of initiatives (where applicable)

High Level Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands vision/mission and connection of future state solutions

  • Recommends changes to drive expected results, while balancing cost, benefits and operational efficiency

  • Leads any/all activity tied to reporting requirements; solicitcs support from SSP business partners as needed

  • Accountable for the development of the capacity/demand oversight model for the annuity vendor partnership

  • Identifies opportunity to create/define standard work

  • Influence and collaborate with business partners to improve reporting capabilites

  • Key SSP Liaison for all Business Intelligence activity

  • Supports broader organization if/where there are operational reporting needs – capable of building near term solutions if BI support is unavailable

  • Works with Vendor Account Manager to coordinate third party engagement as appropriate

  • Forecast annuity new business demand based on MassMutual inputs (historical trends, product changes, marketing initiatives, etc.), industry trends, and macro-economic factors.

  • Uunderstands the relationships between throughput, inventory and cycle time and use these parameters to create production plans as part of the overall demand/capacity planning system.

  • Use Plan/Do/Check/Adjust thinking in the oversight of daily production management

  • Coordinate with assigned supplier(s) to align on appropriate production plans.

  • Identify problems in production execution and participate in problem solving activities.

Qualifications:

  • Critical thinker with the ability to identify reporting needs/requirements to aid/assist in managing the day to day

  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to listen to understand and to influence; internal stakeholders as well as vendor partners on plans and driving accountability to meet defined deliverables

  • Dynamic and proactive; flexible, resilient and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Represents maturity, professionalism, commitment and passion

  • Exceptional analytical skills, adept in building reports leveraging any number of software products (e.g. Excel, Alteryx, Tableau)

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

  • College degree / MBA a plus
