Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a relief/per diem Residential Advocate. The Residential Advocate is a great role for anyone who has worked in human or social services and finds meaning in assisting and advocating for others in a shelter setting. Wage is \$16.50 per hour. The candidate will work fully onsite on an on-call and fill-in basis for potential 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift work. Ability to work at least one shift per month is required to maintain employment. (Shifts worked between 12:00 midnight - 8:00 am earn a \$1.00/hour differential.) Requirements include: 1 year of equivalent experience in human services frontline work, or a related role; a combination of experience plus a high school diploma (or equivalent) may be a substitute * Preference for experience working with the homeless population * Fundamental computer and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to learn new technologies * Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy and patience, with the ability to serve diverse populations * Responsive crisis-management ability in a sometimes high-stress environment while employing solid decision-making skills * Ability to self-motivate and remain professional when working independently * Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs in a home environment * Relief/Per Diem employees must be available to work a minimum of one shift per month, attend staff meetings, and meet all training requirements * Bilingual (English/Spanish) skill are preferred, but not required * CORI/SORI Way Finders is an Equal Opportunity Employer that seeks a diverse staff in order to reflect our community and those we serve.
