Location: Norwalk, CT or South Deerfield, MA

Job Overview

Responsibilities include tracking and analyzing the performance of floor sets for company-owned stores, managing the marketing budget and ensuring that all marketing material is in line with our brand identity. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have hands-on retail in-store visual merchandising/planograming experience and be able to turn creative ideas into effective floor set themes and campaigns to support our Yankee Candle corporate stores.


  • Deploy successful retail marketing campaigns from ideation to execution

  • Lead marketing staff to develop detailed marketing plans for all company-owned retail stores

  • Partner with Brand Activation, Retail Merchandising and Operations, Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, Finance and Direct-to-Consumer teams to develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our company and drive traffic to our doors

  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry vendors, freelancers and agencies

  • Prepare and manage the retail marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely

  • Produce ideas for promotional events and activities and organizing them efficiently

  • Set and manage the floor set planning and creative calendars

  • Facilitate mock store walk throughs

  • Oversee and approve marketing material, from floor set graphics to hard copy brochures and local media as needed

  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals


  • 7+ years of marketing (retail store visual merchandising, visual displays and execution, print marketing campaigns, strategy, etc.) experience

  • 3+ years experience managing teams

  • Proficient in MS Office including Intermediate Excel skills

  • Demonstrable experience in marketing and visual floor plans

  • Proven experience in devising and leading effective retail print marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate

  • Solid knowledge of retail analytics; numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets

  • A sense of aesthetics and a passion for great copy and engaging communication

  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Marketing or related field
