Yankee Candle eCommerce, Copywriter in South Deerfield, Massachusetts

SOUTH DEERFIELD This role is responsible for the copywriting of daily promotional email blasts for Yankee Candle's US & UK markets -- subject lines, headlines, editorial text. The successful candidate will author all web content: homepage, sliders, category landing pages, product landing pages and web banners. This role sits within the eCommerce division. Key Responsibilities: Create compelling online product copy (Yankee Candle website -- 300+ product descriptions annually). Support wholesale email marketing efforts with copywriting for dedicated emails deployed by Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond and others. Produce product and banner copy for Yankee Candle Fundraising website and author targeted emails to the fundraising database. Write SEO-driven copy for targeted initiatives. Collaborate with Digital Marketing team on messaging for social channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.). Work with web team to manage web flip timelines and navigation updates. Team up with web designers to meet tight deadlines while producing activating emails with high click through rates. Collaborate closely with Division Copy Manager to ensure 360 alignment of brand voice across channels. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years copywriting experience in retail/ecommerce (advertising, marketing communications, digital- agency or in-house). BA in creative writing, journalism, English, advertising or related field. Comfort in high-volume, fast paced environment. Preferred fragrance, food or similar category experience. Exceptional writing skills; strong conceptual skills; ability to write for multi-media audiences. Energetic and capable of participating successfully in a very fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills . Detail oriented with the ability to perform under pressure and produce high quality work. Collaborative, team-oriented and capable of thriving in a group work environment. Accepts and learns from constructive criticism and responds positively and quickly with proper solutions. Proficient in mac, MS office and has a familiarity with adobe creative suite. Candidates will be required to share an electronic portfolio as part of the application process.
