Job Overview
The Assistant Buyer, Retail stores will assist the buying team in the day-to-day operations of product selection, purchasing, and inventory management. This role will support the buyers with administrative support, order processing, market research, and maintaining relationships with vendors.
Responsibilities:
Assist the buying team in product selection, negotiations, and vendor management by providing research and administrative support.
Work with vendors to track orders, confirm delivery schedules, and resolve any issues related to product orders or inventory.
Process purchase orders, ensuring that all orders are accurate and delivered on time.
Monitor stock levels and assist with stock replenishment orders to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Research current market trends, competitor products, and customer preferences to support the buyer’s decisions on what products to purchase.
Analyze sales data and assist with reporting on product performance to optimize purchasing decisions.
Update and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems.
Assist in receiving and managing product samples for evaluation and organize sample reviews and feedback.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products, coordinating with logistics teams to solve any delivery issues.
Support the buying team with general administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
1-2 years prior experience in buying/retail
Strong design, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Intermediate Excel Skills- creating and managing spreadsheets, utilizing advanced formulas and functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables), data analysis, sorting and filtering.
