Works with the Brand Management Team developing the innovation and channel strategies for the Yankee Candle® ScentPlug® category, to build consumer demand and market share, grounded in consumer, product, and market understanding. Assist with developing new ScentPlug® innovations and manage product portfolio and brand communication plans.
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Drives key brand, category or portfolio initiatives that effectively reach and connect with target consumers.
Manages development on category innovation and new product development at all phases of the lifecycle.
Acts as a brand champion across the business. Works collaboratively with Design Center to create new product innovations.
Works collaboratively with R&D, Industrial Design and Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) to develop new product and innovations for the ScentPlug® category. Can clearly explain innovation development and strategy to others
Provides support to the gate-keeping process, through data analysis, project planning and overall support. For some programs, lead initiative from start-to-finish including writing the business case, presenting to leadership, act as the brand lead for the project and mitigate project issues as needed.
Participates in annual brand planning process to set a fully integrated marketing plan and programming, working with the Brand Activation and Channel Strategy Teams.
Familiar with consumer insights techniques and develops a strong working knowledge of the target consumer. Incorporates internal and external research materials to develop a holistic understanding of the consumer.
Analyzes shopper insights, market data, and internal POS to understand market performance, market share and category trends, and apply learnings to internal category strategies.
Supports product lifestyle management as new programs are executed and product lines are exited. Familiar with ROI and financial analysis to build business case and track project progress against key performance indicators.
Partners with Channel and Trade teams to craft customer communications and assist in driving distribution at current and new retailers.
Four-year college degree
0-2 years of marketing internship/work experience ideally in brand management, channel management, or consumer insights for a CPG, durable, or professional products company.
Internship or college experience working on cross-functional projects.
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
Proven ability to work on a team.
2-3 days in office

Fluent in English
