We are hiring immediately for a STUDENT ENGAGEMENT, CULINARY & MARKETING SPECIALIST position.
Location: Somerset Public Schools; 580 Whetstone Hill Road. Somerset, MA 02726. Note: online applications accepted only.
Schedule: Full time; Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm.
Details: The Student Engagement, Culinary, & Marketing Specialist will oversee student and community engagement, community/student events driving participation in culinary programs, surveys, focus groups, building initiatives, tastings, showcasing Chartwells K12 programs, and other duties as assigned.
Requirement: Culinary experience, food service operations, computer skills, strong organizational and communication skills, customer service/client relationship building, marketing. Must be able to travel to the different schools within the district.

Job Summary
You will work directly with the Director to implement exciting new promotions and events at your schools that drive participation. From marketing support leading up to events to flawless execution, including nutrition education and culinary support, the Community Engagement Specialist ensures that all students will learn and have fun in the cafeteria. This individual will drive student engagement by positively interacting with students and visiting each school in the district. You will collaborate with on-site operations, culinary, and nutrition team members to implement student experience programs. Areas of responsibility include student and community engagement, nutrition education programs, sustainability, and hospitality. You will partner with the school district’s communication team to engage with clients, school staff, parents, and students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement marketing programs in partnership with operators and regional support teams to ensure continued engagement from students, clients, and communities
Train and support operators in the implementation of student-facing and front-of-house programs, systems, and processes
Customize marketing materials - e.g. social media posts, flyers, brochures, and client presentations - and coordinate with district communications teams
Providing content for newsletters
Conduct focus groups to understand what students and parents are looking for in the school meal program and identify areas for improvement
Keep parents, faculty, and administrators updated and informed about the nutrition program
Assess the front-of-house operations for the student experience, operating standards, and signature programs being in place, and work with operators to monitor results and improve over time
Collect data and report on return on investment and key performance metrics
Maintaining and advertising calendar of events
Sending updates on Nutrislice menu software
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of marketing experience.
Community outreach experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to present to large groups.
Knowledge of merchandising and promotions.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing is preferred.
