Raytheon Technologies Director, Digital Incubator/VC Lead (REMOTE) in Remote City, Massachusetts

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) has an opening for Director, Digital Incubator Lead (Director, Business Technologies and Transformation).

Required:

Location: Remote or Hybrid in Office in New York, Massachusetts or Connecticut

This role supports Digital Technology Incubator for RTX. This position is responsible for leveraging the talent and technology from the startup world towards RTX’s digital transformation.

Work with Digital Incubator leader & supports her to establishes the strategy and operations of the incubator towards the mission of reducing the risk of innovation for the businesses and corporate and enabling the incorporation of the agile, nimble, and forward-facing technology startups represent into RTX’s products and services.

As the part of incubator team, conduct due diligence on assigned startups and recommending startups for minority equity investments as appropriate. In addition, the scope of this role also includes helping with digital investment prioritization and technology use cases across multiple BUs and stakeholders for RTX by assessing customers, competitors and technology trends and for cultivating an innovation ecosystem through collaborations with startups, accelerators, venture capital funds, and universities. Interfaces closely with both external partners and with RTX business unit cross-disciplinary executives and teams to maintain and curate a pipeline to ensure that the startups represent the most critical digital business priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of Digital Incubator, help establish the strategy and operations of the incubator towards the mission of reducing the risk of innovation and increasing the access to talent and technology from the startup world

  • Build and manage trust-based relationships with cross-functional executives and GMs across the businesses to identify use cases for the incubator

  • Lead global startup selection and integration (for assigned use cases) by leveraging market insights as well as business and financial acumen to find optimal startups to fit the use cases

  • Develop and run a process to filter startups towards development of custom solutions for the businesses or corporate

  • Manage startup teams and ensure progress towards specified milestones and satisfactory completion of mutually agreed-upon goals across the product development process

  • Manage cross-functional teams to remove roadblocks and ease bureaucratic requirements for efficient product development while ensuring compliance with RTX legal, ITC, cybersecurity, and other regulations

  • Curate and maintain an ongoing pipeline of priority use cases and startups for the incubator

  • Build robust, clear, and concise communications to explain incubator mission to senior leaders across the business

  • Influence startups and internal cross-functional teams to ensure startup success and alignment towards key strategic priorities

  • Cultivate an innovation ecosystem with startups, accelerators, venture capital funds, and universities to ensure focus

  • Grow digital incubator reach to enable optimal business outcomes

  • Conduct financial and strategic diligence on startups to evaluate potential

Required Skills:​

Typically a minimum of 14+ years in digital incubator arena and a bachelor's degree. Advanced degree and 12+ years related work experience

  • Prior strategy experience or consulting experience

  • Knowledge of aerospace and RTX businesses; Commercial ventures

  • Understanding of cutting-edge technologies and of the startup ecosystem

  • Proven leadership ability at a Senior or Director level

  • Successful track record of startup success

  • US CITIZENSHIP

  • Advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams

  • Advanced Degree

Required Education:Typically a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline
