Our global design team leverages Human Centered Design (HCD) philosophies to advance care and meet the needs of the MedTech Industry by placing users at the center of our design and usability process. We design solutions that balance the needs of various users (surgeons, hospital staff, patients, and caregivers) and span the full episode of care through consistent, seamless, and optimized physical and digital) experiences across our portfolio.

Our organization is a multinational team comprised of Industrial Designers, Human Factors Engineers, UX/Interaction Designers, Information Designers and Design Strategists in more than nine locations around the world, all guided by the same mission to improve the quality of care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize aesthetic mastery in product design to create semantic, usability, and emotional impact.

  • Contribute to visual design language development.

  • Translate broad need statements from patients and healthcare professionals (HCP) into meaningful & disruptive concepts, while balancing business demands, technical requirements, and preserving the brand.

  • Lead, advocate, and scope all design activities and deliverables of a product development process.

  • Potentially co-lead and executes usability testing plan and ethnographic research to inform design directions.



  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related design degree is required

    Required Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience

  • Possess excellent 2D visual communication skills using traditional sketching and digital media (Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, etc. or similar)

  • Proficiency using 3D visualization tools (SolidWorks, Alias, Keyshot, etc. or similar) to create 3D databases that capture design intent and are suitable for downstream applications

  • Relevant experience working with multi-disciplinary product development teams and external partners

  • Ability to balance multiple programs simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with data / information visualization skills to create visually appealing proposals and analyses

    Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Skills and hands-on experiences that augment the design process (e.g., Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, Software & GUI development, Mechanical Engineering, Clinical Experience…etc.)

  • Experience with medical device development and regulatory landscape

  • Experience planning and executing HFE activities, including ethnographic research, formative and summative usability studies, and documentation for design control and risk management

  • Understands FDA guidance on usability; how to lead a usability design process, and how to translate those learnings into product requirements

  • Familiarity with FDA, ISO, AAMI, and other relevant usability regulations and standards


  • This role is based in Raynham, MA or Cincinnati, OH & requires travel up to 20%, domestic and international
