This role is eligible for the following personas: e-worker, mobile and resident.
This Sr. Manager role is expected to drive a culture of Digital transformation and agility, delivering value for our consumers and business. Collaborating with key stakeholders, working closely with Enterprise Technology teams in support of provider network and pricing data, amongst other assignments.
Oversees a team of Product Managers and works closely with the team to develop digital capabilities. Is accountable for end to end product ownership, gathering detailed business requirements/epics, stories, scrums, scoring and prioritizing backlog, along with quality of the product - user acceptance and testing of features and post production operations management. All with eye towards security and compliance, speed to market (MVP), insights driven and consumer focus. Works closely with Digital Technology transformation POD teams and Enterprise Technology to help develop and deliver various digital capabilities using product management principles in a agile approach within the Digital portfolio at BCBSMA.
Key Roles and Accountabilities:
Oversee product in support of the publicly available provider network and pricing data.
Support portfolio of digital transformation priorities and capabilities development.
Play key role of Product Management and Product Ownership working closely with Experience and Delivery teams.
Work with Leadership on various levels of updates around strategy, product and progress.
Proactively Engage Business units and Marketing leaders, external partners, vendors, BCBS Association, security, legal and other teams
Self-Management and lead others – high potential – high performing
Supports Enterprise Governance, Process innovations and Business Process change.
Help focus on key value driven features (MVP) and keep an eye for long-term success
Support overall Digital Strategy and Agile, Hybrid Processes, manage stakeholder expectations and asks
Being creative, curious and collaborative with stakeholders e.g. enterprise IT, Security and others.
Think Minimum Viable Product approach, Think Consumer and Digital First, focus on Insights and KPI’s driven approach
Understand customer needs, support creation of user journeys, work with market research and insights teams and CX teams
Proactively Engage Business units and Marketing leaders, external partners, vendors, security, legal and other teams
Requires good understanding of concepts, Digital Technologies, Mobile Web and Apps and upcoming market changes/trends like Cloud, Health Care Interoperability and Accessibility.
Dealing with Vendors and SaaS Partners.
Collaborate with other stakeholders such as product marketing on the creation of positioning for your products. Help build strong business cases.
Create user stories for current and future products based on the consumer insights and research.
Manage the entire product line life cycle from sunsetting legacy products to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas.
Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Teams, JIRA, Confluence, productivity apps like Microsoft Office, Project, Sharepoint, Tableau, Miro etc.
Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.
Additionally, this role requires the foundational understanding of Digital Technologies and backbones, data processing, information management, security and other Enterprise Technology architectures.
5+ years of relevant Experience with Product Management principles, Agile and Waterfall models.
Knowledge and experience in Heathcare insurance industry desired (claims, benefits, product)
Flexibility; comfortable with shifting priorities
Ability to lead a team, set roadmaps, work on team building and hiring the right skills.
Experience making decisions based on data and research
Well versed in Digital, Omni-channel, Web, Mobile, Apps, and Cloud Technologies.
Good collaboration skills, team building and coaching skills – leading as well as ability to roll up sleeves and get into the details when necessary.
Able to manage multiple projects, deliverables, deadlines, details and relationships at the same time
Proficient with feasibility analysis – support company portfolio RFP’s and assessments
Basic understanding of technical concepts like API, Open Source, CMS, App Stores
Should be able to independently write requirements from brainstorming sessions
Good problem solving skills with tenacious follow up on outstanding issues
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Master’s Degree Preferred
