The Market Insights Manager works closely with the Director of Market Insights to help design and execute market research programs or initiatives. This individual plays a supporting role in larger projects and may have a leading role in smaller, less complex projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Market Insights to help design and execute market research, integrating business/competitive intelligence, which will be used in developing product, marketing and distribution strategies.

  • Leverage multi-year market research studies to measure, analyze and report on changes in key business and market metrics to identify strategic business implications and frame actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Translate research to action planning ensuring strategic research implications are socialized, understood and the business value maximized throughout the organization.

  • Support development of and leverage corporate market research projects in conjunction with internal customers, including senior leaders and external vendors, to support department and corporate goals.

  • Work with Market Intelligence to provide projects with the appropriate marketplace context to ensure that they are actionable and relevant to business objectives and challenges.

  • Proactively summarize research findings and industry intelligence in succinct written reports and present findings to senior leadership teams and cross-functional groups; proactively consult with senior leaders and internal groups about survey results and implications for their areas and their business needs.

  • Promote the department’s reputation as a strategic advisor and position Market Strategy to contribute to strategy development.

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to provide input for business decisions and strategy formulation.

  • Prioritizes completion of daily tasks, seeks guidance on how to address conflicting priorities.

  • Assists with implementation of assigned research initiatives and projects with direction.

  • Provides input to decision making by offering suggestions as appropriate to scope of role.

  • Articulates status of projects, emerging issues/problems, knows when to escalate for guidance.

  • Addresses projects that are tactical in nature, receives management direction, has the ability to react and resolve immediate issues.

  • Provides support and cooperation toward achievement of project objectives with peers, key stakeholders, and business unit leaders.

  • Enhances relationships with peers and cross functional business partners, leverages relationships to accomplish work, based on business goals and needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Required; Masters Degree in, Business Administration, Economics, Public Health, or Social Sciences preferred.

  • 7-10 years of experience with business strategy development and consulting with experience working with primary and secondary research, business intelligence and strategy in the consumer and B-to-B environment.
